Take Flight On The Beautiful Slopes Of Tremblant!

"Mid-Winter" in more ways than one...
To begin with, it is a cryogenic snow morning where the
past couple of days as well as the overnight well below
Zero C temps have put a definite chill in the hill that will
remain a dominant component of the conditions all day.
Secondly, It is a bit unusual to have sequential completely
Sub-Zero C days over the trail network elevations at this
date, but we do, and the benefits in grooming refinements
will be very tangible and clearly evident in fewer icy bits and
a more universal consistency is soft top layers.
Thirdly, the coverages on the open terrain are just as complete
as they would be at the end of February and that is not always
common for the 31 of March that typically has begun to see
spring thaw influences by this calendar mark.
Fourthly, the Summit-to-Base temp. inversion where the
Summit is +5 C warmer than base is far more common in
mid-winter than spring. We expect that will even out
sometime around 11:00 A.M.
Weather Notes:
Temperature inversions generally flip back around
to even or normal cooler elevations by between
10:30 A.M. and 12:00 P.M. noon and that that may
be a critically important factor today because with
the possibility of mixed precipitation after lunch,
the usual cooler by -4 C winds aloft at the Summit
could produce all snow, at least that’s what we’re
hoping for. If we had to guess the odd’s, we’d say
there’s about a 70/30 chance in favour of all snow
up over the trail network.
The 14 day long range now begins to show some
more typical spring cycles but the stored refrigerant
in the conical mass of the Mountain will take a couple
of months to radiate out, so we see great base stability
being a main feature throughout the remaining 3 weeks
of the newly extended season to 4/23/23.

Conditions Notes:
In the Groomed:
Fabulous full winter cold formed snow grooming
with wide ranging consistency in the depths and
evenness in the soft top layers as the consequence
of it being “Day-2” of completely sub-zero C temps
over elevations.
The previous big snow was delivered with quite a
vigorous wind that generated lee-side favour and
so what we think you’ll find today is more overall
uniformity across the entire Mountain footprint.
It was fantastic to begin with though, so we would
categorize the differences between yesterday and
today as incremental refinements that simply make
“Great”, “Greater”.
In the Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:
Generally excellent, but with unique and distinct
differences within Sud/South/Soleil/Nord/North
zonal context, not to mention the infinitely variable
influence of traffic patterns.
It is not hazard free, but for the most part, glitches
are very easy to see in forward descent paths, and
just as easy to navigate around because there is just
so much deep and wide coverage to facilitate alternate
corrections.
The very positive overall characteristic is the extremely
high level of forgiveness in the vast majority of the Sous
Bois that comes from the most natural snowfall ever
recorded in the modern statistical era of the last 25 years.
