38 CM’s Of Fresh Snowfall All At Once!
It might be kinda fuzzy, but it’s what the skiing can
look like at Tremblant after a 40cm’s fresh snowfall...
Tremblant Gets A Very Big “Thumbs Up” !
Weather Notes:
The first really big snowstorm of the season, always
a welcome event!
-------------- Environment Canada Snowfall Warning: ------------------
------------------------------------------------
Conditions Notes:
Typically a 38 cm’s snowfall might open quite a few slopes
in the early stages of any season, however there could be
a few factors that could delay that for today, not the least
of which is that anything close to 40 cm’s is just about the
quadruple of what can be assimilated into the trail base
at one time. So, as far as finished/groomed trails are
concerned, it may just take a couple of days to process
it all. Regardless of any potential new open terrain, the
quality of all pre-existing open terrain will be instantly
elevated.
Secondly, it may also take some time for the Ski Patrol to
assess safety in the Sous Bois/Off Piste/Bush/Glade
categories as there will be zones of uneven depths due
to drifting or wind facing, so there may still be many
natural hazards under the snow surfaces that need to
be surveyed prior to public use.
Additionally, Tremblant is going from event-to-event and
the next big focus is for the conduct of the 24 Hour
Children’s Charity Fundraiser on December 8, 9 and 10.
That will occupy a substantial area of what was developed
for the F.I.S. World Cup Women’s G.S. event at the lower
Versant Sud/South Side Sector so we may not see ski-out
to Sud/South Base for a while yet.
Incidentally, we might expect to see development of
Nansen Bas/Lower at some point during this week as
it is usually a key element in Versant Sud/South Side
public access during the 24 Hour event.
Currently there are no snowmaking icons shown, however
that may be a temporary reporting omission. At cooler
Mountain elevation temps it is likely that snowmaking
would be a very important task and with the forecast
showing a good temp drop in the hours to come,
even more so.

We expect to have that cleared by mid-December.
Thanks for your patience. In the mean-time, we
intend to maintain the daily, chronologically filed,
