12/22/23 #Tremblant Conditions

40(*) Open Trails.

Weather Notes:

If we can’t have a big load of natural snowfall just yet,
this is a very close to ideal substitute for the next best
thing which is "cool enough" to facilitate very high quality
and very high volume of super realistic snowmaking.

The snowmaking at these crisp double-digit minus C’s
is particularly fine due to the combination of atomization
out of the snow-gun nozzles into a very cold ambient
temperature which instantly generates a very dry, fine
(as in small), crystalline snow particle that accumulates
quickly and can be easily spread with each nights grooming.

The next best thing here is the low wind speed in the sunny
hourly conditions. Cool, for sure, but with a safe, quiet,
trail-side rest stop, you should notice direct solar warmth
in less than a minute.

Conditions Notes:

Until Mother Nature decides to bless the region with
more natural snow, the stars of the show are going
to continue to be in the groomed open terrain that
can be supported and developed with snowmaking.

Thank goodness for current Zero Degree C Snowmaking
technology because it really is coming into play to help
keep things expanding while the natural snowfall seems
to be on holiday too.

Fortunately, the quality is excellent. Fortunately, the
pre-existing event schedule of both the F.I.S. World
Cup Women’s G.S. and the 24 Hour Children’s Charity
Fundraiser have been directly responsible for massive
early season trail openings that are now paying huge
dividend’s to all Tremblant Guests that may have no
idea of either just how much is in place due to those
events, or just how well refined the open terrain is
due to those events.

----------------- 4:30 P.M. Apres Ski Insert Update: -----------------

In the absence of any sort of imminent snow storm,
but in the presence of excellent temps for snowmaking,
there are large tracts of trail area under development
including very importantly, Versant Nord/North Side
Expo Haut/Upper and Bas/Lower as what we might call
the current “Marquis” trail, one that will specifically draw
regional Tremblant fans to come out for no other reason.

It should also be noted that Versant Soleil has had active,
weather permitting, snowmaking since December 11, and
icons on the official Trail Status Data below now show
grooming icons on Franc Sud and Algonquin. It might
therefore be considered logical to expect Versant Soleil
to open soon, maybe as a Christmas present(?).

Similarly, the Edge Sector has Action now showing a
grooming icon after several days of snowmaking.
Another Christmas present?

Please Note: Your T360 author is not yet able to
be on site due to a post-surgical, medical LOA.
We expect to have that cleared by mid-December.
12.16.23-UPDATE: Due to LOA logistical support
issues, plus Xmas scheduling, return delayed but
working on A.S.A.P.

Thanks for your patience. In the mean-time, we
intend to maintain the daily, chronologically filed,
weather and trail status data plus whatever
observational commentary possible for archival
date/seasonal/historical period sampling.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
