12/27/23 #Tremblant Conditions

47 Open Trails.

Weather Notes:

More “Spring-Like” in early Winter, and once again, only overcast,
at least during open hours. It could be a lot worse, as in warmer
and wetter, but we are ever-so-thankful to continue bumping
along so close to Zero C without any significant rain. The foggy
part may effect safe vision through goggles, however at these
mild temps you may be able to get away with goggles up or off.

Conditions Notes:

The official report writes that there are firm and fast conditions
which is a very good indication that there is still a solidly sub-zero C
frost level in the trail base that is radiating sufficient cold outward
to support the overall stability of the surfaces to the point of the
firmness described. In our opinion, this is likely to be easily carried
forward throughout the rest of the forecasted warm spell until the
temps drop back into the sub-zero C range in the next couple of days.

From a practical standpoint, what this firmness reference means is
that sharp, fresh edges are going to be a major asset for the foreseeable
future, at least until there’s a big bunch of fresh snowfall.

This late fall in early winter cycle is very normal within the historic
scope of decades of stat’s, so we have to be thankful for both the
fact that there really has not been much in the way of wet precipitation
along with it, and that there was an adequate period of early season
frost that is now acting as a refrigerant reserve from below to support
the surfaces from day to day.

Please Note: Your T360 author is not yet able to
be on site due to a post-surgical, medical LOA.
We expect to have that cleared by mid-December.
12.16.23-UPDATE: Due to LOA logistical support
issues, plus Holiday season scheduling, return
delayed but working on A.S.A.P.

Thanks for your patience. In the mean-time, we
intend to maintain the daily, chronologically filed,
weather and trail status data plus whatever
observational commentary possible for archival
date/seasonal/historical period sampling.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
