55(*) Open Trails.

Weather Notes:

For today:
Another cool start, with a steady cool day,
enhanced by a dusting of 5 cm’s of fresh snowfall!

For the long range:
With the attached supplementary data below, the importance
of the long range outlook becomes crystal clear. We are not
worried about the +3 C forecast for Wed. affecting the precipitation
modelling, even though there have been “mixed” icons on/off in
the projections, because Wed. is “bridged” by Sub-Zero C days
on both Tues. and Thurs., so our theory is that there may most
likely be very much cooler winds aloft in the active natural
snowmaking atmospheric levels above the Mountain that should
support the all snowfall forecast throughout the entire snowstorm
sequence.

It is still too early to know exactly how this progression
of low pressure systems will or could twist, swirl or
contort in order to change the dimensional effects
when they transit the Tremblant area several days
from now, however... the odd’s are highly favourable,
dare say the most favourable for the so-far season,
that this could indeed be “The Big One”.

Conditions Notes:

It is the last weekend Saturday of the Xmas/New Years School Holiday
period, so it could be busy...

Fortunately, there has been a steady, if modest, incremental
snowfall, that combined with snowmaking and the pre-existing
very well established base, should easily be able to support all
the possible traffic, however... Patience will always be a virtue
over weekends, so please, take a deep breath and let all the
throngs of Holiday goers go forward while you look for gaps
to proceed safely.

Scan, scan, scan, then scan some more. When things are
Holiday weekend busy you almost need to have eyes in the
back of your head. There is a huge degree of mixed skill
sharing within all ranges of the open terrain, so it is essential
to allow extra-wide, and extra cautious passing margins with
absolute speed control. Watch out for Beginners and Intermediates
that may make unpredictable changes in course or speed.

We are a bit surprised that the attendance has not appeared
greater today, however once you look at the surrounding
regional weather forecasts where there are many, many
“Hazardous Driving” Winter Weather Warnings attached for
the current system moving through today/tonight/tomorrow ,
we’re thinking that some of those regional holiday folks
from from far-away “Urbanville” who have work and kids
back to school Monday, may have left early for home in
order to avoid snowstorm traffic delays/issues ???

Please Note: Your T360 author is not yet able to
be on site due to a post-surgical, medical LOA.
We expect to have that cleared by mid-December.
12.16.23-UPDATE: Due to LOA logistical support
issues, plus Holiday season scheduling, return
delayed but working on A.S.A.P.

Thanks for your patience. In the mean-time, we
intend to maintain the daily, chronologically filed,
weather and trail status data plus whatever
observational commentary possible for archival
date/seasonal/historical period sampling.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
