A Sunday Morning “Eye Opener”...

Weather Notes:

Snowy and relatively mild for the bulk of
open hours, so a prelude to easy winter
conditions the way they should be, the
way we expect them to be when the season
settles in over the weeks to come.

----------- January 8/9/10 Supplementary Weather Forecast Data(a): -------------

It is still too early to know exactly how this progression
of low pressure systems will or could twist, swirl or
contort in order to change the dimensional effects
when they transit the Tremblant area several days
from now, however... the odd’s are highly favourable,
dare say the most favourable for the so-far season,
that this could indeed be “The Big One” Snowstorm
or maybe even Blizzard.

Conditions Notes:

The ideal overnight snowfall amount for single pass optimized
grooming integration is 10cm’s. We got 8cm’s so in our opinion
there should be very fine to excellent conditions across the entire
range of the open terrain showing a groomed icon in the Official
Report attached below.

Fresh newly fallen snow always has a “loft” factor, which is to
acknowledge the air space between the snow particles as it
builds up on the ground and when that total accumulation
is just around 10cm’s, the weight of a grooming machine can
render out the loft to a near ideal compaction that generates
firm, yet very forgiving trail surface density that is simultaneously
fast and holds an excellent edge grip for turning performance.

We think that’s today.

---------------- 12:57 P.M. Insert Update: -----------------

This low traffic volume for a weekend Sunday early afternoon
is entirely consistent with the usual early departure schedule
that seems to be prevalent, even during holiday periods.

What happens is that long distance commuters feel the
need to get on the road early to make it home to “Theirville”
to be prepared for Monday as both a work and school day.
As a consequence the roundabouts leading away from
the Resort will look like wintery NASCAR tracks as the
mad race to line up on the highways starts right now.

Please Note: Your T360 author is not yet able to
be on site due to a post-surgical, medical LOA.
We expect to have that cleared by mid-December.
12.16.23-UPDATE: Due to LOA logistical support
issues, plus Holiday season scheduling, return
delayed but working on A.S.A.P.

Thanks for your patience. In the mean-time, we
intend to maintain the daily, chronologically filed,
weather and trail status data plus whatever
observational commentary possible for archival
date/seasonal/historical period sampling.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
