Evidently we’re going to get a shot of very early spring...

A lot of periodically active cloudy conditions made
photography a challenge yesterday because of the
very high contrast between snow white and the
surrounding trees but if you look closely at the snow
spray off the skis of the person entering the frame
from the right, you’ll have all the insight you need
regarding the grip level performance on Versant Sud,
South Side trail #23, Taschereau. We expect a repeat
within the freshly groomed today, but with the added
bonus of a dusting of new overnight snowfall.

Conditions Notes:

In The Groomed:

Very Fine to Excellent across the entire range of
the freshly groomed array. As it is a work week
day the traffic should be fractional from the busy
weekend, so we would also expect quite good
all day durability as there should be minimal
traffic stress.

Depending on wind-shaped drifted snowfall
features over Mountain topography there will
likely be zones of additional thickness where
lee-side backfill may have occured. This may
present extra challenge for some Blue zones
but the extra snow should also elevate the
traction levels for those with the skills to
handle a bit of speed with higher edging angles
through it all.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades And Un-Groomed:

No doubt, the Nord/North and Edge sectors will see
most of the snowfall accumulation benefit due to the
south, swinging to sou-west vigorous wind direction
that delivered it on top of and over the Summit yesterday.

Even within that context, there will be substantially
localized variations of deeper drift-in across the
topographical contours, especially in the deep Sous
Bois where the tree tops act as buffers to catch blowing
snow and have it settle below.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
