An Incremental Refinement Over A Game Changer Snowfall.

We expect to see quite a noticeable level of refinement
that is typical of day-2 in a post snowstorm sequential
grooming product.

Quite nearly ideal overnight grooming conditions
should be a major contribution to this mornings
quality.

Weather Notes:

Wow... Nice!

Definition Of “Spring Skiing”: Today at Tremblant.

We continue to see very positive indications
for sustained trail base stability for the
foreseeable future with the projected 14 day
overnight lows over Mountain elevations
being 100% Sub-Zero C.

Conditions Notes:

In The Groomed:

With the second night-shift of grooming after
this last big snowfall, there should be a very
noticeable degree of refinement where ever
the freshly machined surfaces are. Due to
the stability of the overnight low temps, there
could actually be some extraordinary first
tracks.

There will probably be a portion that are
recently groomed, left-over’s from yesterday,
and in this group there may be less predictability
in surface consistency because they have had
less mechanical intervention into the periodic
icy bits or mogul formations. You’ll need to be
ready for that, but those sections should be very
easy to identify from their entrances, so you’ll
have at the choice to pass them by if you find
the challenge uncomfortable.

With this hourly temp profile, you’ll feel softening
on Sud/South and Soleil Bas/Lower sectors quite
quickly and by mid-morning, softening up to
total vertical. It may take until 2:00 P.M. or so
to see some of the Nord/North sectors soften
but we do expect that everything will be spring
well before last run.

You may be able to think of it as revolving sweet
spots that have ideal softness without saturation
of stickiness, progressively working over the Mountain
and what we suggest is that you be content with a
more select approach of repetitions in the sweet
spots while they last.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades And Un-Groomed:

Going from super-crunchy, froze-immobilized, to heat
softened classic spring soft. The initial forgiveness may
be very low and the eventual forgiveness very high. This
is another scenario of evolving sweet spots as the day
matures. Explorations will still warrant significant caution
at all times as the new snow was wind shaped so there
will be both abundant and shallow depth portions, sometimes
along individual descent lines as topographical contours
can generate both drift-in or crested exposures.

Assume that forgiveness is low and don’t be dragging
your inexperienced friends into legitimate Experts Only
terrain.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
