Conditions are Great!*

78 Open Trails with a full range of beautiful terrain for each
skill level and the whole Mountain got a trace of fresh snow
last night, so there should be a wonderful, sugary coating
wherever you go!

Keeping in mind that the fast characteristics of the snow
surface require careful attention to speed control, the
Mountain is in just about the best condition that it could
be for the total amount of snow we have.

*Caveat:
Select terrain that is appropriate for your skill level.
What we see is that "Fun" can quickly go away if you
are on terrain that is too demanding for your
experience/skills, so make sure to check the Green, Blue
or Black status of the run you're looking at beforehand.

Ah yes, more snow would be nice, however...

What we do have is very well prepared. The base is very firm,
but it is all snow, so there is excellent grip for carving if you
have sharp enough edges for it.

Conditions like we have right now can be best utilized with
equipment that is properly tuned up. Skiers and Boarders
will all benefit from gear that has optimum maintenance.

We'll be Flying in the Cloud today, but there should be a fine, ongoing natural snow in it, so conditions are going to be Great!

Todays Temps are a very pleasant winter -12C, rising to -7C with
light/moderate South East winds that will flow over the Mountain
from the South East, or coming up the Geant sector.

It's a wonderful winter morning. Snow Making ongoing on the Mountain.

BACK TO BASICS:

*Caveat: GET A TUNEUP TO EXPERIENCE MAXIMUM FUN
FROM THE GREAT CONDITIONS!

Ski and Board performance deteriorate gradually as a result of
wear/friction, particularly along the metal edges. These edges
are the primary source of the carving grip that your equipment
can generate.

If it's been a while since your equipment has been tuned, you
will not be able to feel the gradual loss of edging ability very
well because it takes place so gradually that the typical
Mountain user does not notice it from day to day. That
being said, when we have this very high quality, dense,
and highly compacted base, you need all the edge you can
get to be able to bight into the surface you are trying to carve
in. If your edges have been rounded off by wear, you will not
be able to take complete advantage of our great conditions,
it's that simple. Oh sure, you can have tons of fun anyway,
just sliding and skidding around, but you're missing the true
carving experience that is only possible with fresh, sharp edges.

Of all the runs at Tremblant, EXPO has one of the most loyal,
dedicated fan groups. We know people that actually come to
Tremblant and pretty much ski Expo all day, so when it opens
for the season, that is a HUGE sign that the Mountain is coming
fully on-line!

It promises to be a Great day at Tremblant, so if you can make
it, you should be in for a nice treat!
