It’s Winter This Morning, And Spring This Afternoon...

-----------------------------------------
Weather Notes:
Two important utility concepts here today.
Number 1, don’t forget the sunscreen. Reflected
intensity off snow-white surfaces can sunburn
exposed bits without the usual sensitivity because
your air-speed makes for a cooling effect while
the radiation is still at work. A sunscreen lip balm is
useful too.
Number 2, torso vented jackets, zip-off sleeves,
or any other means of ventilating or packable thin
layers will be very necessary by mid-afternoon
as heat is going to multiply after lunch and what
was comfortable this morning is going to be boiling
by 2:30.
Conditions Notes:
In The Groomed:
Today is going to be the beginning of the common spring
skiing daily pattern where the mornings are very firm after
an overnight Sub-Zero C, followed by a significant temp
rise well into the Plus Zero C range that will eventually soften
surfaces by mid-day, then may ultimately cause late afternoon
saturations.
The “Sweet Spot” in each day may start around 10:30 A.M.,
and will exist on a rotational basis til last run. The use of the
word “rotational” is in reference to the difference between
the Sud/South and Nord/North sides where the Sud/South gets
significant afternoon solar intensity at the same time the temps
have risen well above Zero C, while the Nord/North side gets
shadowed or oblique sun with far less snow surface exposure.
In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades And Un-Groomed:
The same temp profile from above typically means that
the mornings are solidly lumpy with icy overtones,
progressively evolving to the, classic, beautifully soft
spring skiing known for it’s very forgiving, energy
absorbing, gravity cushion effects.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
