Your Expert Spring Skiing Mission...

Don’t Be Afraid To Explore!

Don’t be afraid to explore is a note of encouragement
specifically for Experts who are capable of the skills
and muscle power necessary to venture into zones
of very low attendance that are currently at exceptionally
fine quality.

In this mini case study we are looking at Versant Soleil
Sector Trail # 47, Laurentienne Bas/Lower specifically
because it is in remarkably fine condition, but it is not
directly accessible as the upper pitch is closed and it
must be entered via Tiguidou Haut/Upper, then traversed
to via Trail # 44, Port-a-Pic, just above the “Refuge” lodge.

Laurentienne Bas/Lower has been described as a
“Private Club” with beautiful, classic spring soft
moguls, and no one on it, but unless you’re willing
to explore a bit, you might never find this hidden gem.

Connoisseurs of authentic, genuine very fine and excellent
spring skiing conditions can rely on Tremblant for some
of the very best in the regional East Coast of North America
but as typical of any late season period, a willingness to
patiently explore responsibly, sometimes out to the far
four corners, is essential.

Conditions Notes:

With this hourly weather profile, everything should
be super-soft spring shred, right across the entire
range of open terrain from freshly groomed to
all un-groomed.

Due to the cold momentum from the recent extended
cold snap, we think the softness may still be shallow
for the most part. The cold lasted for almost a week
solidly, so it we think it will take more than 48 hours
for atmospheric warmth to penetrate very deeply. If
there may be deeper bits of soft they could be generated
by traffic displacement that cause loose top layers pile
up where descent lines get well established.

In the Sous Bois zones, look for deeper and/or more
consistency depths along the edges if you are finding
the trail centres scraped off.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
