Much Better Than This...

In the historic scheme of things, a search
within this record will show that there have
been previous seasons with either more or
less open terrain than this one, however the
recent cold snap with the additional natural
snowfall brought Tremblant well above the
30 year running average accumulation total
so we have a lot to be thankful for as the
final days of the official calendar draw to
a close.

------------- Mid-Morning Update: ----------------

A very important observation in this lower Versant Nord,
North Side shot is the amount of visible snowpack in
the bush adjacent to both sides of the trail. The recent
“Out Like A Lion” weather of late March, plus the early
April snowstorm have all contributed to the durable
quality of these very fine late season conditions with
a really well retained base.

Access Logistics, The Typical Spring Challenge.

Here’s a shot below of Versant Soleil Toboggan
that clearly shows wonderful spring conditions
at mid elevations.

The challenge in this sector is going to be the
runout access to the sector lift where the focus
of the late day solar intensity combined with
ambient late afternoon temps at up to +17 C,
plus the “breezes” acting as a hot air blower,
are all acting to thaw out the lower vertical
meters. Changes in coverage here reducing
the snow coverage have been evident by the
hour in some cases so it would not surprise
us to see a closure of this sector soon.
