November 2024 Ski Season Start-up Observations.
As of November 3, 2024 Tremblant Mountain Operations

posted as sharable social media so we are including
excerpts herein for archival annual record keeping.
Please Note:

b) We expect to add additional
pre-season weather and conditions
observations as time and updated
images become available so please
check back periodically for developments.
All additional updates will be date marked.

If we see challenge in the early establishment of this new season,
it would certainly have to be in the most essential and basic Mother
Nature permission of sustained temperatures below Zero C/32F.
For that reason, we still see value in this function cycle as both a
snowmaking system testing episode as well as a moisture injection
into the absorbent top layers of Mountain surfaces that will accelerate
freezing and cold temperature transfer into those Mountain substrates
when the sustained sub-Zero C finally arrive.
What we see here below is the considerable upward spike that
may peak at 20C with rainy bits, within the next few days. That
heat with wet is maybe, could, possibly going to make retaining
what we see here now(11.4.24) a bit uncertain.
Winter will come, but the rate of Mother Nature’s implementation
is maybe just a wee bit outside human control...
Additional and ongoing Weather/Conditions Observations
as date annotated below.
11.8.24.Weather.Conditions.Observations.At.12.22.PM.a.jpg
What is important to note, particularly in the one
below are both the very beneficial elevation differential
currently shown at -5C to the Summit, as well as
the very visible increase in natural snowfall coverage
that indicates frozen substrates capable of that
snow's retention. Getting the ground well and deeply
frozen is a key element in initial trail establishment
so seeing these cool temps is a very good sign.

Evidently we may have been on the right track with that observation,
however we do expect that as of November 13th, there are far more
favourable windows of temperature opportunity, especially in the
sub-zero C overnights that should extend down to base levels.
As far as snowmaking down to base levels, the next
time period highlight we’re looking for is to see those
snowmaking guns placed along the lower Versant Nord/
North Side, Expo Quad base side runout of Trail # 77,
Beauchemin Bas/Lower, activated. In our opinion,
Summit-to-Base ski-outs are the gold standard of
Opening Day features. Fingers crossed for that most
visible sign soon.
--------- November 18, 2024 - Weather Factors Update: --------------
Please note: Due to the delay in the seasons opening because
of weather to warm to facilitate early snow accumulations,
we are also including this NOAA data in both our pre-season
conditions observations and 2024/25 seasonal forecast article
as an explanatory component.
---------- 11.24.24 Update Weather Conditions Observations: ---------------
Quotation From Our 2024/25 Seasonal Weather Forecast Article...
"Just because the Fall season has been unusually warm
up to mid-November, there is no reason yet to think that
winter itself is going to be any less intense. As any experienced
Tremblant fan can tell you, things can and do become very,
very cool and wintery around here in a heartbeat."
