Open Trail count stays steady at 85 today and
the skiing and boarding should be just as good
as it has been for the past several days.

See Yesterday's report for "How To" on Vision Solutions in the
eventuality that you unavoidably encounter either natural or
blown snow crystals that coat your goggle lens. They are out
there and with a few simple directions (if you do not already know),
you can minimize any inconvenience.

We should start the morning out with temps at -11C or so,
climbing through the day to -2C at the very end of the afternoon.

There is the possibility of precipitation in the form of ice pellets or
freezing rain later on in the afternoon however that should change
to snow in the eve. Hard to say at this stage whether or not surfaces
will be effected, but we think it won't be too bad as the daytime air
temp is not forecasted to go above-2C. At the Summit, many things
could be different as it is typically 3 to 5C Cooler . Fortunately, we feel
that there is enough ambient cold in the Mountain that it can withstand
a few hours of a warm blip, particularly when it is forecast to be only
by about a degree above.

On that basis, we don't think it will change much, but time will tell.

The quality of the groomed carving surfaces over our firm, all Snow
base is quite remarkable. It is possible to just about stand sideways
at 45 degrees off your Skis or Board with maximum grip, making as
many linked carving turns as you have energy for. As usual, it is
always wise to first carefully scope out areas before you go ripping
around in order to confirm safe conditions and note any natural
hazard zones.

Bottom lines for today are that Conditions are Very Good for terrain
in each of the skill levels but for best results, Sharp, Tuned Edges on
your Skis or Board are recommended. You need to use caution where
visibility is restricted and speed control is important for safety in all
areas.
