T360 Proof Of Snow @ 1.14.25

We can tell you for a fact, there are clean, untracked,
fresh, beautiful powder snow lines in the Open Sous Bois
that are over a metre deep.

For Scale Reference:
The skis are 160 cm’s, the poles are 148 cm’s and
neither are touching the ground here. The ski brakes
get jammed with snow and with the reach available
we could not exert more downward pressure on the
vertical pole, so we don’t know the exact depth here,
but it is more.

Snow Quality Reference:
We have a standard 1 foot drop test for the horizontal ski
to illustrate the characteristics of loft in the top layers, so
what you see above is the depth and displacement of the
very soft, fluffy powder that has fallen in the last 48 hours.

All our photo’s have locational data in the jpg. file title
so now that we’ve labelled where it is...

How To Find It:

When the snow storm is almost blizzard-like with
intense thickly falling snow and the consequent
vision challenge, the absolute very best way “How To”
find the zones and trails is:

Every Tremblant Guest from life-long regionals, to
never-ever first-timers, can benefit from consults with
the unique Tremblant Info. Ski team. They are “Radio
Controlled”, so up-to-the-minute information is
distributed as it happens. On super snowy days like
these you may want to talk to them on a run-by-run
basis and that’s the only and exact reason why they’re
here, to optimize your day on the Mountain.

See them at their primary Summit station at the Gondola
off-load zone, or anywhere else you can find them on
the Mountain, but never hesitate to ask.

Weather Notes:

Cooler, but at least low wind speed values, so
still a fairly easy winter day profile.

It’s the long range you’ve got to look out for,
if you’re planning for Sunday and into early
next week, get ready for an authentic “Cold Snap”.
Some forecast models show -30c’s Monday overnight
and that could set the record for this season so-far.

Random Powder Snow Performance Observation:

We can also tell you for a fact that wind-shaping was
generating powder snow lines on some trails of up
to 40 cm’s or more and there was drift line busting
of up to just below your knees in places.

Taking long zoom action shots in a blizzard is not ideal
for photography so this one’s a bit fuzzy, but... the
impression you get about skiing powder snow lines at
Tremblant now is pin-sharp accurate.

Conditions Notes:

Generally:
Abundant, deep, thick, heavy fresh snowfall favours Expert skills,
and significantly challenges Beginners and Intermediates. For
that reason we recommend a default down in initial trail skill
rating until you can warm up thoroughly, and you are 100%
able to maintain absolute stopping, speed and directional
control at all times.

Multi-Day Elevated Challenge Levels For Beginners/Intermediates:
It is quite likely that it may be a day or two before compaction
rates by repeated grooming cycles can achieve more mogul
resistant levels as there is a lot of loft in the soft. This is a
learning opportunity, so consider putting your ski lessons to
work, especially when moguls evolve from small to larger in
a days traffic, thus giving you a chance to gradually adapt
and grow skills.

In The Groomed:

The amount of new snowfall is way above the optimal one-pass
overnight grooming compaction rate so it is highly probable that
there may be very soft surfaces that start smooth but are quickly
prone to tracking and mogul formations as a consequence of traffic
patterns. Keep speeds low and under control at all times, especially
where mixed skill levels are sharing trails. This is exactly when there
are a lot of very sudden and unpredictably random turns made by
Beginners and less confident Intermediates who are just trying to get
down the Mountain in one piece.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

If you don’t get the Experts excellence picture from
the images in this post, you need new glasses. Just
kidding of course... but the visual evidence does
speak for itself, this is probably going to be one of
the top 10, maybe 5, singular snowfall events of the
season.

Significant improvements overnight across all ranges.
However... that is not to say that there aren't challenges
because obviously really deep snow that gets tracked up
can make for some uneven rates of resistance in forward
descent paths that will particularly affect aspiring Intermediates
attempting to gain experience in the Sous Bois group.

Archival Copy Of Official Daily Message:

Bonjour Tremblant! The mountain is wonderful this morning!
After 48h of nonstop snowstorm, for a total of 34 cm, is
there anything more to ask for? Come over and enjoy the
last snowfall, the snow conditions are gorgeous!
Please note that visibility is currently reduced on the
mountain due to snow making and wind direction.
See you on the slopes!
