Why Consults With The Summit Info. Ski Crews
Should Be A Vital Part Of Optimizing Your Day.

When you consider yesterdays open trail start, compared
to today, you’ll begin to understand that change due to
weather factors outside human control can result in
substantial differences in available terrain. We call these
circumstances “Dynamic”. Furthermore, they can change
in minutes because of the constant evaluations being
done by the Ski Patrol in order to simultaneously prioritize
safety, together with offering the largest possible amount
of open terrain to visiting guests.

Those changes and updates are constantly communicated
to the Info. Ski Crews and you can have all the benefits of
that knowledge on your next run, on every run. They are
pictured above at their primary Summit Station, located
right between the Sud/South Gondola and the Nord/North
Lowell Thomas lift offload zones.

Otherwise...
One careful examination of the days across the Long Range
Weather Forecast below will show you there’s going to be
quite a bit of “Dynamic” in the near-term future.

For all of that, if you’re going to be here, not only plan
to consult with the Info. Ski Crews, but bring them sharp
edges we’re always hammering on...

Weather Notes:

Daylight Savings Time Springs Ahead.

A really easy late winter/early spring day today, however...

Important repeat:
One careful examination of the days across the Long Range
Weather Forecast below will show you there’s going to be
quite a bit of “Dynamic” in the near-term future.

Plan accordingly.

Back across March 6/7, there was a large single natural
17cm’s snowfall event followed by additional smaller
amounts that bring us up to the current total. We were
very kindly sent this anecdotal sample recording of those
accumulations which are pictured at the Nord/North
Summit peak of the Lowell Thomas sector. If you look
closely about half way down on the right side of the
frame, just below the horizon, you’ll be able to see the
Expo Quad peak.

All of this(#) has been integrated into the groomed base by
now and it is a primary reason that the effects of the recent,
brief, warm/wet incident have been largely mitigated.

This pic above is another reason why you should consult
with Info.Ski Crews because they actively do field work
research by circulating around the Mountain. Consequently
the feedback from that experience is exchanged between team
members and it becomes part of the experiential reference
conveyed to guests.

(#) The snow in the air you see is what the wind gusting is
blowing/swirling around, largely being displaced from the
boughs of the surrounding trees. There are some trails that
benefit from additional surface accumulations for this exact
reason as snow gets blown off the branches and ends up on
the trails.

Conditions Notes:

In The Groomed:

Noticeable increases in the overall levels of refinement
as the result of the return to multi-day Sub-Zero C’s
combined with daily repeated grooming, all included
with 20cm’s of recent fresh snowfall over a statistical
“Super-Season” base that is already more than 20%
deeper than the 30 year average seasonal total.

At this stage the warm burp of days ago should be largely
vanished by assimilation and we should be back to higher
degrees of “Winter-Like”.

For Beginners and aspiring Intermediates, it is fundamentally
important to underscore the enduring quality of trails specifically
for you. Maintained daily to the highest standards of consistent
smoothness and reliable glitch free traction and control, the
quality of the basic Green boulevards of Nansen and P’tit Bonheur
to Beauchemin Bas/Lower are roughly 99.342% excellent, every
single day, regardless of what dynamic spring weather does.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

The essence of all you need to know...

What was closed has been reopened.

Of course, that’s not all there is to it...

There will be any number of unique and individual
challenges and hazards generated by a “Dynamic”
recent weather matrix over which we have Spring
Break School Holiday traffic.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

 If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
