If You Want The Best Of Great Spring Conditions...

If You Want The Most Of Great Spring Conditions...

You Should Be Racing Over To Tremblant A.S.A.P.

There’s less than a month to go folks...

What we have today is the quintessential Spring weather cycle
of going from yesterdays thaw to a Sub-Zero C overnight, followed
by rising temps back to “+ C's” combined with direct solar energy
by noon.

It’s totally normal, expected and very easily handled with well
tuned equipment and because Tremblant Mountain Op’s sets
the finished grooming bar very high in the most fundamental
element of first class SMOOTHNESS.

Weather Notes:

In addition to the wonderful sunny spring day
today, we want to draw your attention to the long
range forecast that shows a fantastic degree of
stability within the classic spring temp cycles,
but just on the winter side with nice, consistent
sub-zeros and daytime highs that barely break
the freezing mark.

This long range forecast with favourable temps
and its additional potential for several natural
snowfall events is excellent news for sustained
open trail counts and terrain durability.

Plan accordingly regional Tremblant Fans!

Conditions Notes:

------------- Conditions Caveat: -----------------

Yesterday, the Summit got up to +9C. This morning it’s -4C.

The Laws Of Physics Apply.

Sharp, Fresh Or Recently Tuned Edges Are Essential
For Optimized Performance And Safety.

In The Groomed:

There will be many, many kilometres of immaculate first tracks
freshly groomed trail surfaces that hold their quality all day,
however the loose top skiable layers may be shallow and there
may be icy bits either below those top layers or in contour pockets
where saturation from yesterdays heat generated flow patterns
from a pooling effect.

Sensitivity to underlaying thaw patterns may be directly
proportional to slope angle and/or contour cresting as well
as the differentials that naturally occur between Sud/South
and Nord/North slopes.

It is therefore essential to conduct all initial explorations with
caution and slow deliberate observation for potential traction
anomalies around and down steeper pitches as well as at and
below any crests that you can see over until you are on top of
them. Look well ahead for patches of different surface darkness
that may indicate solid substrates and steer clear of identifiable
zones of questionable traction.

Default to lower challenge levels to thoroughly warm up
and confirm safe descent skills before adding steepness
or speed.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

The main indicators are that there are roughly a dozen
delayed openings in primarily the Versant Nord/North
Side Sous Bois group so patience is required until the
Ski Patrol determines safe openings.

Initial conditions may be understandably crusty however
there may be quickly evolving conditions after the noon
hour if the forecasted rise in air temps and solar energy
can synergistically work to soften surfaces.

Default to lower challenge levels to thoroughly warm up
and confirm safe descent skills before adding steepness
or speed.

Experienced Experts Explore Responsibly.
