Winter’s Not Over At Tremblant!

However...
It’s A Mother Nature Limited Time Offer!

Weather Notes:
The forecast says cloudy, but so-far, it’s what we’d call
partially sunny. It’s actually sunny enough to be bright
in open spaces and make well defined shadows in the
Sous Bois/bush, so safe to say, a lot better than expected.
Will it hold out for the day? Not sure on that but at this stage
its absolutely a hazy-sunny start!

Conditions Notes:
In The Groomed:
"Spring Back Into Winter"... where yesterday it got up to +7 C
and this morning it’s -11C, so while the freshly groomed
should be nearly flawlessly smooth, there may inevitably
be icy bits or tendencies in or under surfaces.
There will be some extraordinarily fine groomed surfaces
today and if the currently sunny conditions prevail along
with rising temps., there may be a lot of extraordinarily
fine surfaces that evolve with just a hint of softening.
---------- Spring Conditions Equipment Caveat: ----------
Fresh, Sharp, Recently Tuned Edges Are Essential
For Optimal Performance And Safety.
Analogous Reference We Like To Make:
“Do Not Bring Your Ferrari To The Track With Flat Tires.”
Spring temp cycles that oscillate above/below the
freezing mark will generate challenge you need
properly prepared equipment for. No matter how
physically fit, or how much muscle you have, the
only thing that allows you to connect your skills
and energy to the descent surfaces is the mechanical
grip facilitated by edge contact.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:
Below: T360 Current “Proof Of Snow” V2.
This shot is now 38 hours old but it is still
the basis for the current late season refresh
that represents the “raw material” for the
excellence that can be found with responsible
explorations.
3.26.25.Nord.North.Lowell.Thomas.Sector.Sous.Bois.V.2.Proof.Of.Snow.d.jpg
It should be noted that some trails such as Nord/North Taiga
have essentially been reborn with a soft fresh cover just like what
you see above, over the previous base that had a significant
wet/warm thermal event about a week ago. What is a bit
miraculous about that is that when some of those Sous Bois
zones were closed the hard refroze that just proceeded this
new snowfall created a new and very solid base support that
has had the net effect of immediately levelling out much of
this terrain category. As a consequence, the smoothness you
see in the pic above is now quite common.
For the Sous Bois group we are forecasting a continuation
of this beneficial turn of events but also with the proviso
that this is a potentially very briefly focused Mother Nature
window of limited opportunity. Remaining availability will
be inversely proportional to the advent of warm spring
weather intensity, so get out soon...

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
