Weather Notes:
Enjoy The Moment!
Spring Sunny, Warm, Dry And Easy... What’s Not To Like!
Conditions Notes:
In The Groomed:
There may be initial firmness, we don’t know
exactly how cool it got over elevations overnight
however for the bulk of the day we expect high
performance traction action, everywhere.
The wild card variables today likely rest in terms of where
yesterdays wind-driven heat got a chance to work on
some of the shallower base zones, so we do expect
to see Ski Patrol hand posted or staked out zones to
avoid along descents but they should all be highly visible
and therefore easy to navigate around.
We think we’ve been lucky so far to see so little in the
way of base exposures, especially considering the total
thermal loads of temps, rainy bits and wind, however
we actually think that getting freezing rain instead of
just plain old water rain has been a way better thing
because freezing rain is not erosive and it just gets
ground up and assimilated into top layers. This past
week has been a classic example of that.
Please also note that as an extension of our main point
of “High Performance Traction Action”, this is applicable
in scale across all skill level terrain, so while high performance
will mean specifics for Experts, it also means beneficial things
to Beginners who should find their own levels of relative high
performance as it applies to ease of execution for basic learning
and control moves that can be made without harsh feedback or
rebound. The soft, compliant, very user friendly spring snow
makes learning and practice easy, quick and fun which is very
high performance in its own right.
In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:
Totally a la Carte. Very individualistic requiring slow, deliberate,
cautious explorations with the ability to stop, pivot, jump, or turn
with virtually instant capability to navigate unpredictable challenge
and/or hazard that frequently can not be seen from above until
the last second.
There are conditions ranging from select excellence to raw difficulty
and everything in between.
Experts only please. Trail rated skill levels of Black Diamond are
totally legitimate and may even be greater.
Please see our notes from regarding the Sous Bois group for
the past 3 days for additional context and then allow evolving
consideration for the current weather pattern.
At least the traffic has been very, very light, so wear factors
are almost negligible compared to heat/thaw factors.
As usual... The entire Sous Bois group is the most sensitive to
evolving spring thaw influence so open terrain can change at
almost any moment.
For best results on any momentary daily updates, check with
the Tremblant Info. Ski Crews at their Summit station just off
the Gondola.
Please Note:
There is a significant error in the Official data for the temp indicated at -18C.
It is actually +1 C and forecast to rise from there.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
