The Grass Might Be Green At Yourville,

But There’s Still Great Snow At Tremblant.

April 14, 2025 - T360 Proof Of Snow.

1.4 Metres/4.5 Feet of free depth of snowpack in an Open Sous Bois zone.

Fore sure, it is not like this everywhere, but the
fact that it exists to a significant extent throughout
an entire sector at Tremblant on April 14, should
be all the evidence you need to have confidence
in a late season, last minute, spontaneous, spring
skiing expedition.

For sure, it is not like this everywhere and there are
many areas, especially on lower Sud/South and
Soleil sectors where the the last three weeks or so
that have had some intense solar energy and plus C’s
have no snow in the bush, but the open trails continue
to exhibit remarkable stability indicating the ongoing
support strength of the deeply embedded frost in the
Mountain from those months of this seasons cold
mid-winter.

As a matter of factual, historical perspective, it is fair
to point out that a year ago, the Mountain was closed
on April 14 for the season, with only 18 Open trails and
no ski-out to the Sud/South Resort base, you had to
download on the Gondola. So, with today’s full vertical
ski-out access and 63 Open and very well covered trails,
there’s a huge difference that is reflective of the 592cm’s
Super Season snowfall we have integrated into the
groomed trail base as well as the remaining primarily
Nord/North open Sous Bois zones.

Shred This.

This is a random person we do not know and
the pic is not staged in any way but it is totally
indicative of the current fun and challenge you
can find in every single run. We are always searching
for natural expressions of fun, joy and engagement
in the moment and we think this one certainly sums
up all of those but especially “engagement" as well
as anything could.

Super Soft Spring Conditions You Can
Really Get Your Teeth Into...

Weather Notes:

There is a fair degree of probability that the rainy bits
in the hourly forecast are going to be fast moving
transient pockets of very localized active weather
that may either never, or briefly touch the Mountain
because so-far there is no rain locally and the cloud
ceiling is very high with even bright patches of thin
areas letting in muted sunlight. It just does not look
like rain anytime soon.

Of course that could change, maybe even change quickly,
but we’re keeping fingers crossed that at least as far as
trail elevations go, we might dodge a bullet and get away
with dry?

Conditions Notes:

In The Groomed:

Where freshly groomed, very fine although a bit
sticky in some spots due to thermal generated
saturations that may cause hydrodynamic drag.

Typical warm spring. The very best way to offset
the warmth is wax/coated, ski/board bases for
warm range snow conditions. Another way to
offset the warmth is to ski the shadows on the
Nord/North sectors where the more oblique
sun rays have less effect and the shaded trail
sides definitely have a noticeable speed advantage.

Another approach is to attempt some steeper
challenges with the benefit of gravity assist.
It may require more focus on technical elements
and you need to be prepared with a wide range
of parallel style ski techniques to retain speed
control, but a bit of pitch certainly helps keep
things moving.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

Totally a’ la Carte... An almost infinite variability
in unique conditions and challenge, but all facilitated
by a statistically large retention of natural snow for
this date compared to historic averages.

This is a very good year for Spring Sous Bois Fans and
absolutely worth every effort you can make to get out
for some last minute adventure!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

 If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
