We are using the sunny forecast as an excuse
to use pic’s from the last sunny day(4.17.25),
as a reminder of the essence of this remarkably
fine spring 2025 skiing season that has 604 cm’s
in the integrated groomed trail base.
Even though the cosmetics may not be the same, by
just around the noon hour and onward, we expect
the surface performance to be almost exactly identical...maybe (#) @ Weather Notes.

Carve This, If You Can...
A couple of hours of fitness lapping above(where it has
been safe and almost completely empty of people for the
last week), will turn anyones quads into jello. You won’t
notice that though, the thrills and adrenaline of this
outstanding performance almost completely override
any sensations of fatigue until your muscles finally
begin to build a lactic acid threshold.
For sure, this scene below does not have the almost
blindingly white fresh snowfall today, but it does have
virtually the very same complete trail coverage on the
upper potions of Nansen and as soon as the sun softens
it a bit(maybe(#)), it should be a fine example of the
extraordinary overall end of season abundance that
has only occurred 3 previous times in past seasons
since the 1990’s.

Weather Notes:
Two very big tipping point wild cards are the wind speed
and sustained Sub-Zero C’s at elevations.
Depending on exactly how long the temp stays close to or
below Zero C at elevations, the combination with wind effects
could be dramatically different influences on trail surfaces.
In a best case scenario, things will soften, in a worst case
scenario(#) , it may be very icy all day. An early clue to the
latter may be adjusted open trail numbers, but ultimately
we would expect a sun-softened recovery.
------------- Supplementary Regional/Continental/Global Weather Context: ---------
Please Note: We ran this graphic about a week ago and
we are repeating it here because it is still very much
applicable to current conditions that are quite cool
for this late April time period.

Conditions Notes:
Generally:
Please Note: Due to an overnight temperature oscillation
that went from +10 C, dropping to -5 C, most trails early
this morning are on delayed/progressive opening status
until Ski Patrol field work assessments determine safety.
In The Groomed:
Where freshly groomed, we would expect shallow
skiable top layers that would have solid substrates
from the overnight lows and as noted above, depending
on the rates of thermal advance, it could be noon or
later before softening occurs to the degree that
would typically be considered “spring”. The default
is “smooth”, so at least we have that to rely on until
the powerful hand of Mother Nature helps out with
a bit of heat.
In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:
A giant “if/when” situation totally dependant on enough
heat to make it safely user friendly as determined by the
Ski Patrol. The most practical thing to do is consult with
the Info.Ski Crews and the printed Official Open Trail List
posted at their Summit station.
Obvious by the number of delayed/progressive planned
openings, this group of trails is the most sensitive to the
temperature oscillations we are experiencing.
It should be noted that typically this late April time period
might be often seeing 24 hour above zero C temps that
would have the available terrain in this trail group accessible
all day, however, the late season depression of the polar vortex
that has helped to extend seasonal durability in the groomed,
has been the cause of some daily limitations in these categories.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
