A Fantastic Early Start For Tremblant
Alpine Skiing Terrain Development.


We think that history will look very favourably
at the pre-season snow accumulations from
both natural and blown sources that have
distinct advantage from cold temps and
a large natural snowfall component.

The potential here is for a unusually large
number of opening day open trails, as well
as the very real possibility of Summit-to-Base
ski-outs on both Versant Sud/South Side and
Versant Nord/North Side. It could be a record?

Mother Nature Flips The “On”
Snow Switch At November 1, 2025

Typical of natural snowfall shaping at Tremblant,
above you can see the first accumulations over
the upper sectors of Sud/South slopes, where the
temps at elevations are commonly -4C cooler than
base levels. Just as commonly, below you can see
the Nord/North side with it’s cooler advantage
visible all the way to below the Expo sector peak.

Another important aspect of this Nord/North
Lowell Thomas sector shot is the pre-season
mowing that has taken place here. With a short
vegetation layer, snow accumulations will not
only fill in quickly, but will also add a fibre thatch
acting as an anchoring function within the trail base.

With 24 hours of the first natural snow, Tremblant Mountain Op’s
was deploying massive snowmaking resources.

When fully extended, this snowmaking zone will go all the
way to the Lowell Thomas high speed quad base.

This view above is an excerpt from an elevated drone POV
and normally the distant view to P’tit Bonheur would
not be visible due to a ridge of bush you can’t see over
from ground level here.



Below is a T360 ground level sample of this terrain
in February with full season maturity.

Arguably, this below(especially when combined with
additional web cam snowmaking views of Beauvallon
Bas/Lower), is one of the most important functional
views because it firmly establishes the potential of
Summit-to-Base Versant Sud/South side ski out to
the Resort base.

“Great” News About “Bad” Weather!



11.15.25 - ENVIRONMENT CANADA SNOWFALL WARNING.

If it sticks(*)... This could be close to a record of pre-season
natural snowfall accumulations and together with that, there
is potential for Mountain Crews to have one of the largest
opening day terrain inventories ever recorded.

If there is a caveat in that, it might be that there is more
development work required for the F.I.S. Women’s World
Cup G.S. Race weekend, December 6, 2025, than we know
about and maybe that could divert some resources.

Regardless, with a November 27th opening, which is a
week later than some years, plus all this natural and
blown snow, it’s not hard to imagine that it’s going to
be an impressive start to the season.

(*) Long range weather forecast models at 11.15.25
show that temperature projections for daytime highs
are actually going down. Obviously that greatly improves
the odds that all forms of snow accumulations should
be easily capable of sticking. This is particularly relevant
considering that Mountain trail elevations are typically
-4C cooler than base. Currently, every overnight between
now and opening is forecast well below zero C at elevations.

While there certainly is an above average pre-season natural
snowfall accumulation, it is not a record. Currently at 48cm’s
by this date, the record our stat’s show is 79cm’s at Opening
and as of this moment the forecast does not seem to support
another 30cm’s between now and the 27th, so at this stage
we’re speculating somewhere around 12 Open Trails to begin
with, on a “+/-“ basis by a couple.

We could be wrong, especially if there was more infrastructure
demand for the F.I.S. weekend than we estimate or know about.

On an overall basis, observations continue to witness significant
snowmaking from summit-to-base on Sud/South and Nord/North
primary zones.

This Sud/South mid-elevation POV facing over the the
Beauvallon Haut/Upper sector shows one of the most
important annual terrain developments which is Nansen.
Any portion of Nansen opening is vitally important for
all Tremblant guests as it increases the overall square
acreage, thereby spreading the traffic loads out and
thereby reducing wear stress when total terrain is still
early season limited.
