Conditions Notes:
In The Groomed:
Really KKkkool, Really Cool Skiing.
Where freshly groomed, really cold snow has it’s own
distinct characteristics of primarily high lateral grip
as a consequence of the fine, dry, crystalline particle
structure being able to hold a highly banked ski or
board edge-set under centrifugal forces.
You can tell what its going to be like before you even
ride up the lift because when you’re walking on it, with
almost every step there’s a loud “squeaky” noise that
comes as the ball of the foot rocks across it from the
dry friction underfoot.
It is this lack of internal humidity that typically also
facilitates easy natural speed, although that is not
always the case and in recent days we have actually
had a bit less glide than we’d expect. Maybe last nights
super-cool could have restored some of that speed.
Regardless, there is ability to exert control quickly and
a little bit of friction has just meant steeper pitches
are easy to have fun on without fear of runaway.
It has been a couple of days since the last big snow
so we would also expect the additional compression
of the groomed are going to be able to keep their
smoothness all day, especially with light work-day
traffic.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
