33(*) Open Trails At #Tremblant.

Here Is The Principle Reason For The
Current Excellence Of Conditions...

T360 - Proof Of Snow.

And... There’s Lot’s More Where That Came From!

Weather Notes:

The current weather is a very complex mix of components
that is highly dynamic as opposed to stable or steady. At
the present time, we are in a relatively warm blob of the
wavy edge of the unstable Polar Vortex shape.

In the preamble for todays weather notes we refer
to a complex number of components. Here are more
of those below and when combined with everything
else that’s been causing snow, more snow, and then
even more snow, it all adds up to really exceptional
early season skiing at Tremblant.

----------------- 1:39 P.M. Insert Update: --------------------

For a Saturday, it’s not crazy busy. For sure a line at the gondola
but over on the Nord/North, actually quite light for a weekend
afternoon.

Please Note: We are including this 12.14.25 Weather/Conditions insert
in 12.13.25 because it is loosely part of “Saturday Night”.

Conditions Notes:

Generally:

24Hr Children's Charity Fundraiser weekend traffic can
be busy, however Mountain Crews compensate regular
guests not affiliated with the event, primarily with more
open terrain on Versant Nord/North Side sectors.

The possibility also exists that it may not be quite
so busy because some special event weekends have
the perception of busy which causes some public
attendance deferrals that make them not busy.
We won’t know until the lifts turn, so it will be
interesting to see how it works out.

One thing’s for sure though, Mountain Crews always
provide excellent quality on the groomed terrain
available to the public, so it’s still a great day to be out.

In The Groomed:

Below is a surface characteristic sample that shows
what the entire groomed trail network has for base
functional elements, excellent shear properties and
superb glide and low friction/high natural speed.

The first, “shear”, is obvious as you can see the super-thin
layers an inclined edge-set will produce. The benefit is
remarkably easy control move initiation that is very
responsive to the angles you apply to anything from
turning by either carving or side-sliding, to hockey-stops
or snow-plow maneuvers. This alone makes for quick
and effective learning for Beginners especially as the
surfaces will not trip you up and on a relative scale, that
makes these conditions very forgiving.

The second, glide and natural fast speed, need to be
experienced to appreciate. This is cold-formed very
low friction, light, dry, fine-crystallized snow and skis
“Fast”, right out of the gate. Traversing plateau’s and
getting from trail runouts to lifts are all super-easy,
just glide in and ride up.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

Please review the “Proof Of Snow” pic. above. This is
the basis for the overall excellence for such an early
time period in this, or any season with over 1.5 metres
of natural snow at Dec. 13.

What the pic can not show is the softness in this snow.
It is not the light fluff of 10,000 feet over sea level
like Utah, but it is not sticky or overly dense either.
For Eastern North America, this would be primo
mid-February, cool, dry, lofty powder, but it’s here now,
on Dec. 13 and if you are a dedicated Tremblant Sous
Bois fan that has not made it out yet, you are missing
literally historic conditions.

Newly Developing Terrain Construction:

Below is only one sample of many, but it’s an
important one as it is key to one of the most
popular sectors on the Mountain, Versant Nord,
North Side Duncan.

For the best insights into what could be available
in the days and weeks to come, check out the
snowmaking icons on the Official list below.
Please note the active snowmaking on the Soleil
sector.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

 If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
