Standard Adverse Weather Protocols:

This is a file shot of exactly what works. It’s over
a decade old and the poncho shown is still in use
with 100% effectiveness the very same today, as
it was shown way back when.

It is a large, cape-like, waterproof, non-insulated
membrane and can be used for any season wet
weather outdoor activity. We’ve used them for
countless days like today and also used them
at a rainy Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal so
once you own it, you’re ready for anything, anytime.

With this level of protection, you laugh at days
like today and you can take genuine pleasure
with the fine spring skiing that awaits all who
can stay dry.

Otherwise:

Greeting Christmas Holiday Guests!

The early-bird Holiday guests are already starting
to arrive, yesterday we encountered a steady stream
of folks from Bellville, Cambridge, Ajax and more,
all planning to be here for a week or so meaning
a “White Christmas” for sure!

Considering the “dynamic” Open trail list can change
often and rapidly in any early season time frame, the
very best strategy for daily utility optimization is
frequent consults with the unique Tremblant Info. Ski
Crews pictured above. Stationed between the Summit
Gondola and Lowell Thomas lift offload zones, these
local Experts are your new best friends on the Mountain
for trail guidance referrals for skills and abilities, as well
as terrain style preferences. They are “Radio Controlled”
so their updates and access to your inquiries are instant
and accurate. We consult with them every day and you
should too.

Mountain Intel In Action.

In this sample from yesterday the clear advantage
being illustrated is the use of the trail maps to
steer you in the right direction, but if you look to
the frame-right, you’ll also see the Official Open
Trail List is on display here too, so even if you
know where you’re going, now you know if
it’s open.

Progressive Status Newly Opening Terrain:

Versant Nord/North Side Duncan, Summit-To-Base.

We expect this example to be of high initial quality due
to the large ratio of natural to blown snow in the finished
mix. Duncan has looked openable for weeks on natural
alone, so with the added blown to help facilitate both
contour shaping as well as uniform base depth, we
have every hope for a great opening here.

Keep an eye on the Snowmaking Icons on the Official
list we include every day, for future sector/terrain
development insights.

Weather Notes:

Unfortunately, it’s a primarily rainy day which means
you’ll be wanting to dig out the trusty Descente Poncho.

The Unofficial Trail Du Jour Award:

We had to wait for several minutes for traffic to add
human scale to the pic, but for virtually every run
on P’tit Bonheur, it was completely empty and it
was very safe to dial up speed for thrilling high
traction carving cycles of quad burning fitness lapping.

Absolutely superb....

We want to include this sample of the superlative groomed
surfaces from yesterday because even though the look will
be completely different and we’ll lose the snow in the trees,
we do expect the seamless smoothness to be there, just
feeling and appearing to be spring skiing for a day. We
also want to remind readers this is technically still late
fall and even though we’ve had all-winter so-far, these
types of warm/wet spells are totally normal and expected.

Thankfully, Tremblant Mountain Crews are masters of recovery
and whatever we suffer through this weather cycle, the corrections
will begin to occur immediately after last run.

Conditions Notes:

Generally And In The Groomed:

Superbly smooth, high performance spring style
skiing for a day, but with the wet atmosphere
that requires a water resistant outer layer in
order to stay functionally comfortable.

The possibility exists that if our 80/20 rule applies,
and conditions at elevations are cooler and relatively
dry, it could actually be another fly under the radar
day of great conditions, albeit still likely to be “damp”.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

All manner of Experts only challenge where open.

Thick, wet and unforgiving, however there may be
select spring-style bumps that are fun and controllable,
but there are hazards you need to anticipate and the
only safe way to do that is with slow speed explorations.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

 If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
