----------- T360 Apres Ski Edit/Update At 4:58 P.M. -----------------

They said “Sunny”, but in never really happened
as most of the day was overcast. There were
brighter moments but not much more, and...

it stayed cold all day.

Calling for sunny tomorrow, we’ll see how that works out.

Calling for cold again, we think we know how that works out...

On the bright side... Technically superb skiing, and we know
that definitely works out.

Sunny But Really, Really KKkkool....

This is a legitimate “Bundle Up” and maybe keep
the kid’s inside for a while, warning zone. It will
warm up, and where there’s direct sunshine and
when combined with wind shelter, you’ll even feel
heat when stoped for safe trail-side breaks.

Weather Notes:

We’ve been expecting it to stay cold for quite a while
now, but the difference today is in how the long range
forecast is now showing a significant warming trend
that was not there to this degree, 72 hours ago.

As we said yesterday, that why we label our primary
weather data with a really big “if...”, every single day.

In the mean-time, it’s unseasonably cold as millions
of East Coast folks are all in the same Polar Vortex boat.

ATTENTION Next Week Tremblant Ski Day Planners:

Combine the data below with the 10 day Long Range weather
graphic above to get an insight regarding significant potential
for a way milder temp pattern working into our region.

Conditions Notes:

Generally:

“Bundle Up” Alert. Very cold to start, so layers
and frequent indoor Summit breaks are necessary.
Zero Exposed Ski Alert. Descent speeds at these
ambient levels can generate frostbite on exposed
tip of nose or eyebrows in seconds. If you see
anyone with patches of white skin, send them
indoors immediately. Consider keeping little kids
inside for a deferred late start when temp’s are
less of a threat.

In The Groomed:

Extraordinary quality featuring a high degree of
integrated smooth connectivity between skill levels
that facilitates easy learning progression. Typically,
these super-cool cryogenic surfaces are simultaneously
grippy and forgiving which means you can experiment
with edging angles and pressure without undue harsh
feedback. Basically you can go from slip to grip or back,
quickly, and without risk of being tripped up or catching
an edge.

Notwithstanding the initial cold...
For anyone who’s serious about getting better at the sport,
days like today are a gift because provided you choose terrain
that is realistically within your skills, everything is easy, and
working up in challenge comes naturally in the afternoon
with the confidence you build in the morning.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

Continued very fine for this date, however there are
well established holiday traffic patterns that want
slow speed initial exploration in order to safely
navigate. There may still be some fresh lines, but
you’ll have to go out further to find them.

There have been some grooming, levelling re-sets as
noted in yesterday’s conditions and those zones
will carry on today with extraordinarily fine
smoothness combined with their inherent steepness
challenge. It should be noted that for confident
Intermediate's, this is an excellent learning opportunity
for those that have good hockey-stop and stem turning
skills and want to safely take on more steepness challenge
without big or irregular bump hassles.
