Weather Notes:

For sure it’s way chilly out there but(yawn...), it’s
just more KKkkool winter, nothin’ we ain’t seen before...

but... It’s legit “Bundle Up” territory and it’s also
the time when you need to mindful of little kids
who may need to defer early morning extreme
exposures. One approach for the coldest mornings
is to sleep in, enjoy a relaxing brunch, then head
out when the temps have warmed up, skip lunch
and ski right through without stopping for anything
other than a warm beverage...

---------------- Supplementary Weather Forecast Data: --------------------

At this stage, Eastern North America is one of the snowiest places
on the planet. There are many Western Ski areas that have statistically
low to very low natural snow cover and anyone who is following
the televised current F.I.S. World Cup Ski Racing European Tour will
have observed that in many(most?) of the venues the only significant
snow shown is on the track being raced on and the background
views show that the valley’s and surrounding low levels are all brown.

Bottom line... if we have to endure some KKkkool, it’s a happy problem
for the exceptional conditions we have now, and can look forward to
for pretty much the entire back half of the season.

The graphic in the lower left corner of the doc. below
shows the main feature of this current Southerly
projection of Polar Vortex that is forecast to be prolonged
due to a pinching action between two warm blocking
atmospheric masses that you can see over Alaska and
Greenland.

Further, the shape and flow path within the cold section
is going to be influenced by the Jet Stream that is also
being twisted by the same Alaska/Greenland blocks.

Conditions Notes:

In The Groomed:

Superlative levels of seamlessly smooth integrated skill level
grooming across the entire range of indicated trails on the
list below.

Very little to zero icy bits how ever there may be some
wind exposed crests or very steep pitches where firm
or slick zone may be encountered, so be observant and
reduce speeds where you can’t see below the crest you’re
passing over.

Otherwise, notwithstanding the cold, there should be 98.432%
excellence, everywhere.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

350cm’s is tons of snow for this date, so the quality over
such a vast scope is a privilege that we don’t always have
this early in the season.

The challenge is having the muscle to be durable for
a whole day of it and we respectfully submit that most
Sous Bois fans are going to run out of muscle way before
you run out of fabulous Tremblant.

If you’re a Sous Bois hacker, ya gotta be happy, not only
now, for all the fabulous, forgiving deep, deep snow, but
just think about how much more there is to look forward
to. This season holds every good promise of being one for
the record books.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

 If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
