Yet Again... The Weather Is The News...

Very KKkkool....

and seems KKkkooler yet due to a rather fiercely gusty North wind...

But we are definitely not alone. Get this, during the onset of the
current Polar Vortex disturbance system, back in early Feb.,
there were SNOW FLURRIES in SARASOTA Florida and the coldest
record temps in Florida since 1936. The influence of this anomaly
has been with us to variable degrees all along but interestingly
due to displaced lobes of cold, there have been periods where we’ve
been warmer than North Carolina.

Not only does this show super-sunny, but look closely at the
lower right corner of this frame and you’ll see maybe the biggest
tell-tale this is “SUPER-BOWL Sunday” with almost zero people
at the Lowell Thomas Quad base on Sunday???

Conditions Notes:

In The Groomed:

Generally very fine where directly proportional to
steep slope angle and frontal wind-facing. We say
that because to be objective, there are some exposed
icy bits due to erosive high velocity wind forces on
steeper slopes where it is naturally harder to retain
loose snowy depths, especially in high winds.

Slopes of either shallow pitch, or tucked away from the
brunt of the force of blasting are in most cases, pristine.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

For the most part, these zone are very well buffered by
trees that diffuse the wind at ground levels, so the bush
conditions are far less effected and should remain with
beautifully light, dry and fine crystalline composition
from yesterdays fresh 10cm’s of new snow.

Mogul zones could show icy sides so you’ll need to
explore carefully at safe low speeds.

Do Not Blast Over Crests You Can’t Clearly See Below...

Some of the sharpest cuts are the ones you just can’t see
and if you come into them too fast, you may find yourself
launched into an “unfavourable” orbit...

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

 If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
