2/19/26 #Tremblant Conditions

102/102(*) Open Trails At #Tremblant .
We were hoping for more winter snow,
but we got more winter cool(at least overnight)...
It did snow, just in other places West and the big lines
of active weather on the radar seemed to evaporate
halfway to here. A bit disappointing but looking on the
bright side, mechanically speaking, more cold at any
point in February means better preserved conditions
in March so we take what we get with a positive outlook.
In the mean-time, the Groomed trail array should be
extraordinarily well refined.

Conditions Notes:
In The Groomed:
Very high levels of grooming refinements across
the entire skill level range, however we are going
to see signs of “Spring” creeping into the mix as
daytime highs of forecasted up to +2 C by mid-aft.,
may likely generate some lower Versant Sud/South
Side and Versant Soleil late day softness to variable
degrees depending on the intensity of solar energy.
This will all be super easy and while temp's are on the
move up(#), very forgiving as ever-so-slightly softened
surfaces typically have excellent speed and fantastic
edge-hold derived from top layers you can really lean
into for shredded grip that is capable of holding
tremendous lateral force.
For Experts Black terrain we could be talking top-to-bottom
mega-carve, front-side fun, for Beginners, Intermediates
and all of those aspiring to learn and improve, very near
ideal forgiving Green and Blue practice conditions that literally
make you look good because they are just that easy.
(#) While temp’s are on the move up has a flip-side
that we need to talk about about and that ties into
the Spring-like thermal cycles regarding tomorrow
and the overnight low temps back down to -17 C.
The laws of physics apply. Yesterday we issued an
Equipment Caveat for sharp, fresh/recent tuned
edges and we want to underscore how important
that is in these types of daily temp cycles.
Optimized mechanical grip/control/safety is a
direct function of the interface between firm
surfaces and sharp edges. Dull, rounded, worn
edges are literally like bringing your Ferrari to
the track with flat tires. Look after this basic
utility NOW, before you make the trek.
In the Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:
These are the most sensitive trail groups and the
best frame of reference is to say that there within
millions of fingerprint variations, there will be both
sweet spots and significant challenge with the challenge
primarily in the firmness of the mornings and the sweet
spots in whatever softness there may be in the afternoons.

you can use the “Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
