It’s “Daylight Savings” “Spring Ahead” Time, So...
Here’s The Very Best Way To Optimize
Your Longer, Brighter Days...
3.6.26.For.Your.Info.Ski.Summit.Crew.Station.Just.For.You.e.jpg
The pic. above is roughly 30 hours old, but the availability
and conditions of Open terrain are way different(variability
we may see a lot of over coming days...), so the very best way
to match actual skills or challenge preferences is with a consult
at the Summit Info. Ski station, right between the Gondola and
Lowell Thomas offload zones.
Decades of local knowledge and insight are at your fingertips
and that’s an advantage you can benefit from immediately,
instantly, and for every single, individual run.
This is critically important when the dynamic of spring weather
variables can change trail status, literally by the hour.
Weather Notes:
Next 2 days... early Super Spring!
Long range... So far. looks like a little dip back into winter
with great possibilities of snow!
Please Note: There are a couple of basic inaccuracies in
the weather stat’s data, namely the infinite ceiling and
the 30 km’s of visibility are not correct. The Summit is
enshrouded in cloud/fog and even at base levels, you
can’t see more than about 4 km’s across the valley.
Conditions Notes:
Generally:
Instant Spring...
From months of 100% winter Open, to warm, wet, heat
and 3 Open trail reductions within 6 hours yesterday,
conditions are profoundly different than 48 hours ago
so we’ll need to be prepared to adapt in many ways.
That is not to say the skiing will be less fun though,
as a matter of fact, Spring style skiing is a favourite
status for many and there’s no doubt that the softness
is commonly very high in forgiveness as control is easy
and there is an enjoyable level of cushion in the bumps
and Sous Bois(bush), that is unique and makes for easy
learning for aspiring mogul or glades fans.
We think the benefit today is that there is going to be
sufficient carry-over of warmth to keep everything
open, soft.
Please Note: There could be millions of wild cards of
speed or sticky, so pay careful attention to patterns.
A low, well centred stance with a good forward hand
position is essential for dynamic balance control when
forward resistance can change within metres.
There can be wild cards equally between soft and firm
too, because the embedded cold in the base has not
gone anywhere yet and that means that yesterday’s thaw
will have hit still very well frozen substrates where that
froze acts as a barrier membrane that can produce localized
mini-glacial flow zones, especially at, over, around, and just
below topographical crests and on steeper pitches.
Look for patterns that have high probabilities of evolving
dimensions.
Do not assume that the run you took in the mid-morning
will handle in the same way mid-afternoon.
Explore with caution on all new descent lines. This is absolutely
a day where if you find sweet spots, you may want to do loads
of repeats for reliable performance.
Today definitely has “Fly Under The Radar” super-fun potential.

you can use the “Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
