3/12/26 #Tremblant Conditions

Post by admin »

.

43/102(*) Open Trails At #Tremblant .

Please Note:

Due To The Freezing Rain/Ice Storm,
We Are Without Hydro Power(Heat) And Internet.

Reporting For This Date Is Delayed Until Hydro
And ISP Services Are Restored.

We are using a borrowed internet Hot Spot connection to provide this
text only notice. We think(we hope), we will be at least able to recover
data for the day for archival continuity and accuracy, but unfortunately
until that time, we are currently unable to process or upload jpg.pic./data
files, so any .jpg files you see added here will have been done after
service restoration.

Sorry about that… but we are not alone as power outages have affected
millions of people in the path of the storm. Hydro Quebec is currently
Estimating power restoration for our area in the adjacent Old Village
Of Mt. Tremblant for the late afternoon of 3.12.26. It is our understanding
that the Resort is currently fully powered on. Our ISP “Cogeco” has sent
text updates for service restoration for between 9:00 P.M. and 8:00 A.M
(3.13.26), so we are uncertain about exact timing but will attempt to
Restore normal reporting A.S.A.P.

Please review yesterday’s reporting using the “Previous Topic”
buttons (pg. top/bottom)for additional context applicable to today.

(Especially the part in the Environment Canada Freezing Rain Warning
pertaining to “Prolonged Utility Outages Are Likely”…)

Thanks for your patience!

---------------- 5:14 P.M. Insert Update(a): --------------------

Please Note: Our Hydro Power And Internet Have Been Restored.

We will update some basic stat’s files but we also have other
logistics support to catch up on so the bulk of the reporting
deficiencies from today will be made up tomorrow morning.

Weather Notes:

What we can tell you about the big freezing rain storm
Is that as bad as it may have been at ground levels, up
over trail elevations it is our impression that it had far
less impact. We are located at just about the same
elevation, across the valley from the Flying Mile sector
Peak and we hardly got any freezing rain at all. Evidently
there was enough at regional ground levels to affect
electrical services supply though. We did get some course
granular snow, and that has switched to a more normal
fluffy snowflake that at times is falling thickly. The temps
At mid elevations have been sticking at -5C for several
hours now.

Please review the 10 day long range for forecasted “back
to winter" outlook.

Conditions Notes:

Generally:

The Open terrain may be limited, but we think there will
be reasonably good quality, especially because virtually
all that is opened is Groomed. What little freezing rain
there was included to variable degrees, a course snow
pellet that became finer and over time became regular
snow, so we think that should produce a good, durable,
top layer due to the overall integration.

Please Note: Soleil and Edge Sectors CLOSED.

DAILY MESSAGE

Thursday March 12 | 5:22 a.m

Bonjour Tremblant,

Mother Nature is keeping things interesting today with a mix of rain,
snow, and freezing rain. Temperatures are mild this morning but will
trend colder as the day goes on. Our grooming teams have been hard
at work and are ready to deliver the best possible conditions across
the mountain. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone today,
please enjoy the slopes and ski safely.

Please note that the Soleil and Edge chairlifts will be closed.
Residents on the Soleil side of the mountain are invited to make
their way to the South side to begin their day.

First Tracks has been cancelled.

Terrain parks will open gradually as conditions allow, and several
runs will open progressively throughout the day.

Please be advised that all Alpine Touring and Snowshoeing sectors
are closed today.

We invite you to check this page regularly; it will be updated if
there are any significant changes.

Have a great day!

Mountain safety tip of the week: Remove your backpack.
In chairlifts, to ensure you are seated properly, remove your backpack
and place it on your lap or, if space allows, on the seat. This reduces
the risk of accidents or of straps getting caught in the lift.

Snow fall is recorded daily at 5 a.m from mid-mountain at North
Side (550 m / 1,800 ft). This data, based on 24 hours, provides a
picture of on-mountain conditions. Actual accumulation may differ
from the official report. Be aware of changing conditions.

Lifts and trails exist in a mountain environment and may close
due to weather, usage and/or special maintenance.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the “Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

 If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
