43/102(*) Open Trails At #Tremblant .
Here’s What We’ve Been Doing All Day At Tremblant...
4.15.26.Nord.North.Superieur.Spring.Snow.Winter.Coverage.Performance.Observations.d.jpg
We were wrong....
Previously we stated that there was over a metre of snowpack
reserve in some upper Nord/North side Sous Bois zones.
There are actually over 1.5 metres of snowpack reserve
and the Skis/Poles shown are for measurement/scale.
The skis and poles shown below are 160 and 148cm’s in
length respectively and in this Sous Bois location we could
have pushed the vertical pole out of sight below the surface
but we left it visible for recognition.

4.15.26.Nord.North.Lowell.Thomas.Sous.Bois.Proof.Of.Snow.b.jpg
Of course... it is not like this everywhere. Sud/South base levels are showing
substantial brown earth thaw loss of snow coverage and the Mountain-side
creeks are all running at extremely high volumes that can be loudly heard as
you pass over on lifts, but... the scene above is real, and right now, and the
fact that it exists within an entire sector on April 15 is a sweet note for Sous
Bois fans to finish up their season on.
-----------------------------------
Part of the individuality of each days unique fingerprint
is the sometime counter-intuitive reality that can be found
to be different on a daily basis. In this Sud/South sample
from yesterday morning, Taschereau had an icier base than
Nord/North trails that were already much softer. Typically
it might be the other way around, but that’s exactly why we
encourage cautious explorations, because today may share
similar overall patterns but could be swapped, altered or
otherwise be made different by Mother Nature on a localized basis.

Weather Notes:
There are rain icons during open hours so we’ll need
to be ready for that, however we’d like to point out
that in many recent similar forecasts, the actual
rainy bits over elevations have been fractional and
Summit/upper levels have been far drier compared
to local base levels.
As usual at the end of the season, due to the natural shading
from the direct afternoon solar heat energy, Versant Nord/North
Side zones have excellent comparative groomed base and Sous Bois
snowpack retention advantage over Sud/South slopes. This Trail # 64,
Marie-Claude Asselin, shot below showing very fine late season
conditions, is within 50 linear metres, and within 15 minutes, of the
“Proof Of Snow” pic. in this topic
4.15.26.Nord.North.Marie.Claude.Asselin.Soft.Smooth.Sweet.Spring.d.jpg
Conditions Notes:
Generally:
Genuine, authentic, warm ’n somewhat wet “Spring” corn snow
that exhibits greater levels of surface saturation and higher rates
of friction, are becoming more universal.
It is extremely important to note that so-far the vast square area
of the solid base is being supported from within by the deep frost
reserves that months of Polar Vortex cold injection represents
as a foundation that is so-far, virtually completely intact.
Basically, on what is open, we have spring skiing surfaces over
almost full winter wall-to-wall coverage.
The best thing you can do to prepare is wax or coat ski/board
bases with spring heat range material to help facilitate glide.

Bring Back The Memories...
Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.
When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the “Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.
There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.
If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
