Chemin Duplessis, Route Nord/North - Closure Summer 2026

.
Chemin Duplessis Road Closure For Critical
Watershed Management Upgrade.
Dates Effective: 8/3/26 --->>> 9/18/26.
Chemin Duplessis is the route that takes you from
the Sud/South Resort Base side, over to Versant Nord,
The North Side(*), going by P3, the roundabout to the
Casino, and P4. Anyone who travels it after a big rain
storm knows how much drainage there is here, or
anyone traversing here during the peak of the spring
thaw run-off knows exactly how close the high water
level of the river can get to the paved road surface in
the section that’s going to have upgraded watershed
modifications, so it came as no surprise to us that this
work needs to be undertaken.

((*) Conversely, it is the route that Lac Superieur, Nord/North
folks use to quickly access the Sud/South Resort and Saint-Jovite.)
The construction time-span of 6 weeks should have
it completed just before the fall colour change so for
those who make the trek to the gorgeous Nord/North
side for an annual pilgrimage, you should be fine to
plan for the height of the fall seasons beauty that typically
runs from late Sept., to mid Oct.
Of Course... and as noted, the detour is always available
but there’s no doubt it is the long way around, so extra
time we might estimate at an additional 45 to 50 minutes
might be needed for that.
