2/18/10 Conditions

Post by T360 »

91 Open Trails with extended warm weather under
overcast skies with the possibility of snow flurries.
Daytime high temp could reach Zero C, but with any
luck, our surfaces will be somewhat protected by being
shaded by cloud.

This will make today another very easy winter day to
handle, but we do not want it to be too easy, to the
point of thaw, for obvious reasons. We don't mind
warmer temps, as long as they don't compromise
the quality or durability of our snow. In other words...
Please, Mother Nature, no early spring.

In the mean-time though, let's enjoy the day because
the skiing and boarding should be a repeat of yesterdays
great conditions. The new snow that we've received over
the past couple of days adds a high level of "grip" to our
surfaces as it gets compacted into the base, so the ability
to set and hold an edge will permit carving for all skill
levels.

Please keep in mind that selecting terrain that is appropriate
for your skill level is essential to getting the most enjoyment
out of your day. Some people may find the new snow a
bit thick for turning, so we encourage you to pay close attention
to the trail rating system as that is the best way to match
terrain difficulty to your abilities.

The best way to match your skill level to the Mountain
terrain... This excellent document is todays copy of the
