We have 92 Open Trails today and they will all benefit
from the overnight snow which has been giving all
sides of Tremblant a decent, but variable accumulation.
We say variable because as the wind swirls around, it shapes
snow deposits in unique patterns on the Mountain and that
is where the fun, or at least a good portion of the fun, is
going to be today. Exploring those unique snow features that
Mother Nature has gifted us will be like unwrapping a really
big present, and there should be lots of pleasant, joyful runs
all day long.
The Tremblant Mountain Crews will have worked their skills
on grooming a large percentage of the available acreage,
but it may take a day or so to catch up with it all as even more
snow, up to another 15 Cm, 6 inches or so, is expected in the next
24 hours.
One remarkable aspect of this snowfall event is the close to freezing
temps that are staying just on the right side of cold to produce snow
instead of rain. We sure are lucky on that one as we have been on
the verge, but never over, the line that would be too warm.
Fortunately, our Summit being 2116 vertical ft over the base, is
typically 3 to 4 degrees C colder than the base, so conditions up
top will be even better.
