51 Open Runs this morning and not even one
cloud in the sky(at least right now), but things are
definitely going to be "Firm" on the Mountain!

"Firm" will include slick or even some icy patches
so caution with speed is going to be absolutely
essential to both comfort and safety today.

We say you can ALWAYS find great Skiing/Boarding
somewhere in the Open terrain at Tremblant. Part of the
fun is exploring the Mountain to find it. This is an example
showing the beautiful surface conditions on this North Side
run as we check out the "Nooks and Crannies" of Tremblant.

The temp last night was supposed to get down to -19C
but we don't think it got quite that cold and just after
sunrise the weather Network was showing -11C which
is more like what it felt like walking out the door.
Daytime high temps should reach -2C or so.

The solar energy will certainly be there, but to what
degree it affects the Snow surfaces remains to be seen.
We'll let you know Apres Ski on that one. We suspect
that some lower South Side surfaces may become soft,
but we also suspect that the North Side will remain very
firm all day.

Hopefully, Mountain Crews will have attached the powder
maker attachments to the Groomers. Powder Maker
attachments are designed to break up a frozen surface
to produce "powder". What you actually end up with is a
rather granular top surface that will give you something
to turn on, however, there is no doubt that due to all the
recent hot weather, the moisture that was there will now
be solid.

We hung around after Last Run on the North Side yesterday
to see if we could observe Grooming operations, however
they were not working that sector at that time, so will add
those details here later on.

Here's a shot overlooking Duncan's summit sector at 4:15 P.M.
Temps were dropping but the moguls were still soft at that point.

Spring Ski/Board conditions remain at
very high quality considering all the
weather variables and recent warm
weather trend.
Definitely worth the effort to hit the slopes!

Tremblant Mountain Crews have been working to loosen
a top layer with the Powder Maker grooming attachments
and gradually, with guest ski and board traffic, the surfaces
are becoming more "user friendly". Ultimately, we are now
locked into the annual Spring cycle of Thaw and Freeze, the
natural differences between daytime heat and nighttime below
zero C.

As Skiers and Boarders, we've all had the feelings of wanting
to get in a few more runs at the end of the season, so now's
the time to do that with Style at the Tremblant, Telus Spin event!
