Now then, depending on how you look at it,
there may be an....
ADDED BONUS!!! .... Spring Conditions mean
some extra effort is required to get through the
Thicker portions, so you get a better calorie burning
workout!
No doubt, with the extended heat wave we're in
the moisture content in our surfaces is at the highest
saturation levels it can be. As the moisture under
your skis or board can and will create extra resistance
there is definitely going to be some additional effort
required to get across plateaus and/or skate out level
sections. For those of us that have been here all along,
we've been coping with this for several weeks now, so
we may actually be getting used to it.
Not much you can do about that, other than wax your
bases with a "Warm" wax from Toko or Swix or some other
similar product that will create any kind of hydrophobic
layer. "Hydrophobic" meaning water repelling, so it's the
best you can do to break that suction causing layer of water
that will otherwise be under your skis or board. This tip
will likely apply for the rest of our season... all 8 days, if
everything goes according to schedule.

Oh Deer...
If you happen to be driving around the country side,
watch out for these guys. They're out there, running
around like lost puppies and they come out across
the roads without any notice at all, day or night.
Just missed this one by inches, then while trying to
get the camera out, it proceeded to run up hill on
what would have been a blind crest for anyone
coming the other way. Fortunately, it turned into
the bush before any traffic came along.

The Tremblant Behind The Scenes Quality Story.
As difficult as it may seem to cope with the Heat Wave
and the buildup of moguls and other terrain glitches,
the Tremblant Mountain Crews are out there making
the best of things for all of us who are going to spend
the day on the slopes tomorrow.

(please note: Time stamps on web cam snap shots have not
been adjusted for daylight savings time, so actual time of
Pic's "springs" ahead 1 hour.)
Tandem Groomers work together to restore the loading zones
on the North Side. The Snow Harvest by the Mountain Crews is an
impressive display of their ability to move enough
material to get the job done. This Snow is very heavy
due to moisture content. Anyone who has pushed a
shovel against wet snow will be able to understand
the challenge here. This shot clearly shows the deposits of snow
that will be groomed flat to allow traffic from
Sissy Schuss and Beauchemin to return to
the North Side Lifts.
