Vintage Post Cards, Brochures and any other Antique images:
Original Chalet des Voyageurs MONT TREMBLANT Lodge
This building was in use until the early 1970's From very early on, Tremblant's creator Joe Ryan's vision was that of a 4 season
destination. A putting green located in the original South Side base complex. Here's a bit of Tremblant historic imagery from 1952, together
with the supporting descriptive detail showing it's use.
As you can see, this photo was sent to the Chicago Sun
newspaper in Feb. of 1952. The hand written notes show
where the the pic was to be displayed within the paper as
well as the size specified for the layout... Neat!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Post Card Image of "T" bar to Summit, South Side, time estimate
late 1940's to mid 1950's. Here is another "T" bar Post Card pic. This one is harder to identify
because there's no "landmark" in the background like there is in the pic
above, where Lac Tremblant is very obvious. Two clues though, the first
is that this appears to be looking upwards, based on which side is drawing the
passengers, the second clue is that there are almost exclusively hardwood
trees in the background which would typically signify a location on the bottom
sectors of the Mountain. The farther up, the more predominant coniferous trees
become.
Of course, knowledgeable Tremblant fans will recognize this below as
"Flying Mile" on the South side, which at that time was the only
way up to the summit, via the TGV/"T" bar.
Here is a postcard pic from the bottom, looking up the
"Flying Mile". Judging by the design of the vehicles,
we're guessing this is a late 1940's shot.
At the top of Flying Mile the Mi Chemin lodge.
Dog Sledding has been a popular activity at Tremblant for decades.
As usual, we welcome any contributions to this archive
collection and would very much appreciate your participation!
