Nansen Haut is a meandering green run with a
distinct "S" shape that runs just to the right of
#3 Nansen at the top portion of Nansen's domain.
Nansen Haut or "Upper" is one of the most picturesque sectors of the
entire Mountain. The above pic should be ample evidence of that. It is also
one of the most gentle descents on the Mountain and is absolutely perfect
for those just starting out with Alpine winter sports due to not only
the very gentle pitch, but the immaculate, smooth, surface maintenance
that Tremblant Mountain Crews apply every day it is open.
It is one of the runs here at Tremblant that we like to say has a surface
that is "as smooth as a billiard table"! As one of the premier learning
zones at Tremblant it receives the most careful attention to surface
quality.
Nansen Haut is also one of the first runs to be open each season for the
American Thanksgiving weekend at the end of November, weather permitting
of course. Nansen Haut has an extensive snowmaking infrastructure so when it
comes to seasons opening, sub-zero temps for the preceding week are the
main prerequisite as Mountain Crews can make more than enough to open,
even if Mother Nature is reluctant on the natural snow.
For seasons opening, it is usually part of a loop that includes Trail #9,
Mi-Chemin, back over to the TGV detachable high speed quad chair lift.
