Conditions 1/20/09

A Very "Crisp" morning today @ -23C, BUT, the temps will
rise all the way up to -13C or so under sunny conditions,
so regardless, it's going to be a Great Day!

The Light, Fluffy quality of the snow that has fallen over
the last few days is pure Heaven for experienced Skiers
and Boarders. Beginners will not find it difficult to deal
with either, if they stay focused on speed control and
the basics of turn initiation, weight transfer and breaking.

These conditions are a great way for beginners to get a
taste of "Powder", without so much that it is too deep.

While there is much of the Mountian that is groomed, there
are areas where the fresh snow has been left untouched
except by those who are either skiing or boarding over it,
and those areas become what refer to as "Crud" or "Tracked Up".

These portions of the mountain require extra attention to control
as they have different types of resistance as you pass through them.
