Apres Ski Update:
It's 18:00 Hours, or 6 P.M. and just got back from the Mountain
after a few Apres Ski errands....
There are 4 main stories to follow here, with a fair bit of detail.
As this post is ultimately an archive as well as general info, we will try to
make it complete.
Story # 1... What we have, right now.
Story # 2... The very good quality of what we have.
Story # 3... What's going on on the Mountain
Story # 4... What to expect in near future, if everything goes well.
We took over 250 Pics today, sort of the "ShotGun Approach", and glad
we did because there are a variety of decent quality images applicable
to the above 4 themes and we are going to include the best for the record
in the form of replies here.
Please note that there are only 3 images per reply, standard for this
type of forum platform. For greater detail and future historic review,
they will be as big as possible, up to 256MB pic files for wall paper,
real window size pic's. Sorry, no thumbnails here, so there are multiple
replies.

Bonjour Skiers, Boarders! Here we are all lined up at
opening day for another great season at Tremblant!
The season of 2010/2011.
Snowmaking at the summit and on select NorthSide runs has been
going on for about 10 days... read on for details...
This web cam Snap Shot was taken yesterday at
20 after 5 and snow making continued all night After a long, hot summer, we're ready to hit the slopes right now and
unlike last year with the opening delays, there are no disappointments
this year as Tremblant fires up the lifts today, just in time for
American Thanksgiving.
According to the Official Tremblant Snow Report, we have 3 runs open
today which are La Crete, the Summit connector that gets you to the other
2 open runs, and Beauchemin Haut/Upper as well as P'tit Bonheur.
Both Beauchemin and P'tit Bonheur are North Side, top half runs that will
take us to the loading zone of the Lowell Thomas Triple Chair, which is going
to be our way back up until more of the Mountain comes on line on the
weekend.
In a press release we read earlier today, Tremblant management is
forecasting to have as many as 7 runs open for the weekend. We see no
reason that can't be done, as we've got nice cold days and even nicer,
colder nights, on top of which there's about 20 some odd CM of natural snow
in the forecast for Friday and Saturday.
Back to today... The weather is going to be cold to begin with, the low
temp at -18C at 6 a.m. this morning, then as the sun blasts out its warming
rays, temps will rise to -13 by 9 a.m. -7 by noon on the way to -5 by 2 p.m.
The good news there of course, is brilliant sunshine with all its up-lifting
ambiance. It's going to be a very good day for pictures, so make sure
you've got a fresh charge on your camera and be ready to admire the view!
Tremblant Mountain crews have been working day and night to get us here
and we're excited to get to see what they've been able to accomplish.
All through the night the snow making has been going on at full tilt and
while most of us are snoring away in the pre-dawn hours, the Mountain
Crews will have already been spreading the precious white stuff over
the surfaces we'll be on shortly.
Looking North East at the summit to la Crete. The yellowish light
on screen left is the top un-loading zone of the TGV.
All these snow guns have been running all night on "Max"!
PLEASE NOTE: We're including this following incomplete document
because at the time of this articles publishing, it had not been
up-dated yet. We have been including it for the record since last season,
every day, and when/if it is up-dated, we'll add the corrected version.
This document is a downloadable pdf file and is very useful.
Have a great day, Sun, friends, skiing, boarding...
How can you go wrong when you get to spend the first day of
the season at Tremblant!
Oh, and by the way.... stay tuned later on today for a bundle
of Apres Ski Pictures and comments, we'll seeya later, right back here!
