11/29/10 Conditions

Compared to Ottawa, or Montreal, really snowy!
Typical though, if there isn't 2 feet of snow on the front yard at home
in Ottawa, Montreal, or anywhere else, people just don't seem to think
that the skiing or boarding will be good?
Au Contraire!

What we have right now, today, is very fine early season conditions.
A look back through the 4 previous reports for this young season
will show you the whole story...
Quality on early season quantity. For sure, the selection of runs is
limited, it's early, and that's the way it goes, but... the important
point is the quality.
We continue to be amazed at the abilities of the Tremblant Mountain Crews
to deliver the most remarkable, fine carving surfaces possible.
Early opened ski areas get feedback describing "Lumps" "Icy", "Difficult" etc.,
but anyone that's been here at Tremblant for the past 4 days will back us
up on this... Not at Tremblant!
We have beautiful conditions here and if you're missing them, then you need
to fix that!
The weather today is going to be a very mild early winter with temps
starting out at -5 C first thing this morning and reaching as high as +3C
just after lunch.
As far as temps go, please remember that these are ground level and
our summit typically is 4 to 5 degrees C colder than the base. Todays summit
temps should remain quite nicely below freezing.
The winds are forecast to be from the North East, so they'll be crossing
over the Mountain from the P'tit Bonheur side, moving across toward Soleil.
They should be light to moderate in velocity, but regardless, at these mild
temps, should not be a problem.
