Huge Breaking Tremblant News! @ 9:24 A.M.

Tremblant Team Members Sign Labour Agreement!!!

It's full speed ahead for a Super Season!!!

Scroll down to see all the detail...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS!

"All we want for Christmas is....."

DUNCAN!

Wishful Thinking? ...We'll soon see!

Today is the day we anticipate that Duncan will be tested, inspected
and certified by Government Elevating/Lift device Officials who by
law, have to examine and verify that this lift meets or exceeds all
regulations pertaining to its function and safety, prior to you getting
on to it.

62 Open Trails... NICE!
We get a big jump in the numbers this morning!

What this means is that the Mountain Crews are catching up
to Mother Nature as they whip things into shape and verify
safe passage in new terrain.

Looking at the the list below, we're thinking that the next big
jump in the numbers we're going to see will be the opening of
not just new trails, but entire sectors, like the "Edge" or
"Soleil".

If that happens, we're guessing that you'll see an "Open Trails" number
somewhere in the 70's.

Nice Big Bonus Today ...for Expo fans...

According to the Official Tremblant.ca Snow Report,
Expo Upper has been "Winch Groomed"!

This is Expo in one of its most fun modes, at least for some.
Oh, we know that many like Expo with the knarliest possible bumps,
but when Expo is Winch Groomed it is accessible to a lot more users
many of whom are confident intermediates who have always wanted to
try it, so winch groomed makes it possible.

Winch grooming, by the way, is when a run is so steep that the packer
needs to be secured by a cable to the top, then the packer crew "Winches"
the machine up or down on the cable for safety and control.

Here's a file pic. of Expo about a day after it has been "Winch Groomed"
Check out the packer ridge to the immediate left of the Expo Quad Chair
near the top. You can clearly see the broad, flat surface that Mountain Crews
can put on Expo.

Today's weather... super easy mild -4C sub zero at the Summit today
with a forecasted North or North-West wind at a moderate velocity
coming roughly across the Summit from the Nansen side.
Things are forecasted to cool off over the coming days, but not
too bad, there aren't any silly cold temps, so the Holiday conditions
should be quite manageable.

Trail and Grooming status, Courtesy of

These will probably be restricted access

Superb Pre-Christmas Conditions and rapidly
expanding open terrain. Tremblant should be
on the top of your Holiday "To Do" list!

Congratulations To All Members Of
The Tremblant Team From Both Sides
Of The Table!!!

Thanks Ever-So-Much Gabo for this wonderful news!

Note for future Tremblant historians: If you are wondering why this is a
big deal, the last time there was a labour negotiation here, there was
a strike that disrupted service and operations for several weeks. As
you can understand, it caused quite a bit of inconvenience. Many people
including customers with long memories have been concerned about the
possibility of a repeat, so this news is significant to all concerned.

As always, these mountain reports are crazy good. I can't believe the crap that I heard on tripadvisor about this site just being a dumping ground for the tremblant.ca reports

the last few days have absolutely proved this wrong in my eyes, it's practically slander when you look at the quality of these pics.

I didn't even know what winch towing MEANT before this thread today. Too damned steep for me, but it is interesting for sure.

Can't wait for the videos guys
