Conditions 1/29/09

Post by T360 »

.

23 Cm's, or 9 inches of fresh snow.

Less wind than yesterday, warmer temps,
and the possiblity of some sunshine coming through.

That is a good outlook for today, and of course,
the promise of more snow in the forecast is going
to be icing on the cake.

There will be a combination of groomed and natural
surfaces today, however, with the wind, there will be
blowing and drifting snow, so even where things start
out groomed, you could see areas of deep drifting as
Mother Nature decides to push her new blanket around.

Intermediates and beginners should use caution with
regard to speed, due to these drifting conditions, as
they explore the Mountain today. So, if you are on
"New" trails to you taday, you may want to try them
twice, the first time to confirm the "Lay of the Land”,
the second time to have fun with a bit more speed
or the choice of a "Line" that suits your skill level.

For experts, well, this is what experts live for... and they
will always welcome all the new snow they can get, so
today will be perfect!

The North side will have the best conditions, so be sure
to explore over there, and if you have the skills, try some
of the narrower sheltered runs like Banzai, where the wind
will have deposited quite a bit of snow for your skiing/boarding
pleasure!
