On The Groomers, Absolutely Superb Carving Snow.

Off The Groomers,
Conditions are Complex.

Here's why:

This picture above illustrates the principle reasons why todays
conditions need to be described as complex.

Look carefully at the way the snow has been shaped around the
Silver Pinroth Groomer/Packer above. You can clearly see how
the wind has created deposits of snow where shelter has permitted,
and where no snow can accumulate due to exposure.

Scale that illustration up and let the Mountain take the place of the Groomer
and you have an idea of what we're getting at.

Firstly, there's a ton of fresh snow that below the windblown Summit
has been deposited with general "All-Mountain" coverage, but, it has also
been shaped by the wind into some irregular patterns where the lee of
natural features such as land contours or trees have created sheltered
pockets, just the way the snow has blown in around the blade and tracks of
the machine above.

Speed and Control Caveat In Effect.

Watch your speed today. Mixed surface conditions of highly
variable resistance will create potential imbalance situations
when you pass through high resistance zones that may come
without warning or slick, low resistance zones that may come
without warning.

You need to explore the Mountain with care and control until
you have verified safe passage for your skill level.

This will effect all skill levels today.

Todays Weather:

Very Brisk -25C this morning, quickly rising to -10C
under brilliantly Sunny Skies and almost no wind.
There will be a lot of thermal energy in the sun
today so you will be able to warm up trail-side by
soaking up some rays.

Please Note: There is some sort of glitch on todays
display as you can see by the squares in the first "Tick"
column instead of the usual Tick marks. Not sure what's
up with that, but will try to get updated version if possible.
With 92 out of 95 Trails open, it's not all that critical anyway.

The most important feature of todays Graph is the
Grooming list. It is the third column.

Depending on your skill level, you will
want to pay attention to this, because off-groomers
will be very challenging due to the depth of fresh snow.

How Much and How Fast did it snow?

The Official http://www.tremblant.ca Snow Report states that there was
27CM of snow. What we can tell you is that due to the wind, there
are areas that have more, and there are areas that have less.

It came down very quickly.

This Pic immediately below is shown first to demonstrate the
rate of Snowfall when compared to the second below.

This pic below, taken just below the mid-point of Banzai was
shot less than a half hour after the first one. As you can see,
it filled in quite a bit in that short time. Basically, it was doing that
all over the Mountain.

We were thoroughly impressed with the amount of acreage
the Mountain Crews were able to cover last night.

Look at the Grooming List above and know that it is all real.

Here's a quick 4 Pic. summary,
South And North...
typical for the yesterday to today
transformation at Tremblant.

Yesterday at last run.

The next 48-->>72 hours will have some of the finest carving surfaces
known to exist, at least in our opinion. We're biased though, so you should
really come and check it out for yourself.

Hope to have time to add more Apres Ski later, but for those using or
looking for early planing information, you can be completely confident in
your expectations for great conditions at Tremblant for your upcoming
weekend.

The pics we process and load later will only confirm that.
