.
Here we go, with more new snow!
This is a really neat portion of winter because we are
entering into Mother Natures best temperature zone
for the production of NATURAL SNOW.
Typically, the very cold weather, such as we have had
in January, tends to be clear and dry. Statistically, natural
snowfall is not that great at -20C or lower.
Mother Natures ideal natural snow temps are at -7C, plus
or minus about 3C, and that is where we are going to find
ourselves for the next 2 weeks or so.
If you take a look at the 14 day forecasted trend from the
Weather Network link below, you will see this trend.
So, not only have we passed out of the Deep Freeze Zone,
but we have in addition to the far more manageble and
pleasant seaonal temperatures, a TON OF NEW SNOW to
look forward to.
BIG ADDED BONUS FOR "LAST RUN" FANS TODAY !!!
Lift hours get extended an extra 15 minutes today !
"LAST RUN" now at 3:45 P.M. instead of 3:30
Last run is determined by the Ski Patrol who need a certain
amount of daylight to clear the mountain after lift closing.
This is a safety issue at every Ski Resort, and we are no
dfferent to anyone else in this regard.
Once the Sun begins to stay out longer as we slowly advance
toward spring, the increase in the length of daylight allows
the Mountain to stay open longer.
Some people are "Morning" people, and some people are
"Afternoon" people, so all those from the latter group will
enjoy this extra time.
Today's weather is going to be mostly overcast, temps
rising to about -6C with light winds from the south, or
coming up the Soleil Side.
The Skiing/Boarding will be excellent. Watch out for
drifting snow and have fun!
