Noon up-date:

For some reason which is not yet known, the Gondola
is off line.

A web cam survey shows line up at Flying Mile, but nothing
over a minute or two on the North, so go the North for a while,
it's great over there anyway!

Scroll to replies for additional detail.

For many reasons, we think of February as the
"Heart" of the Tremblant winter.

Not just because Valentines occurs this month, but
rather due to the completeness of both coverage and
access that comes with the long established winter
weather patterns that have brought us to this point.

All that cold we endured will soon seem like a distant
memory as we bask in the rays of longer days when the
sun stays higher and spends more time shining down on
us in the big sky over Tremblant.

Important to note in this pic: The quality of the snow surface
shown in the foreground which was indicative of many Summit
departure points the day after the 27CM snow storm. Even though
the wind was pushing a lot of the snow toward lower places on the
Mountain(Like knee hight powder drifts across lower Nansen???), even
most the exposed trail starting points held on to a very fine granular
snow with good edge set characteristics.

We've already noticed the enlightened Apres Ski hours
that just a month ago, seemed so quickly dark.

It's not just where we've come from, weather wise either,
it's what we have to look forward to in this fabulous
month ahead that typically includes Snow, Sun, some
warmer temps, but still stable winter that means only
better and better conditions as the days go by. It's supposed
to go up to -2C today already. Hey... it was only like, within
a week that it was -36C one morning?

The skiing and boarding at Tremblant are fabulous within all
the rated skill levels, and the Tremblant Mountain Crews
have steadily maintained the surfaces to the very highest
standards possible. When you factor in all the challenges of
dealing with the dramatic, variable hand of Mother Nature,
we think they have done a great job.

Not only is Expo great now, it's been great since it opened!

Lets talk about the weather for a moment...

-2C, forecast to head down a couple to -4C today
which we are thankful for because we don't want to see
too much heat just yet.

This is a great February forecasted weather pattern, so if
Mother Nature is even close, conditions at Tremblant will
do nothing but get better each day until further notice.

All this great winter weather we've had is going to mean
Excellent February Conditions, so plan to visit A.S.A.P. for best
results with these stable winter surfaces.

February, the "Heart" of the Tremblant winter.

Unfortunate news to report, but reasons not yet known,
and impact minimal at this time, based on following Web-Cam

If anyone with verified, accurate info can share, it will always be appreciated.

Our recommendation is Ski and Board on the North and enjoy
what are arguably the best conditions of the Mountain over there.

Apres ski Archive Notes:

Whatever the cause of the Gondola glitch was, is still not known to us,
but what we can tell you is that Tremblant appears to have made a
"Good Faith" effort by keeping the Flying Mile open until 3:45.

If you were at the Johannsen/Flying Mile base at 3:30, you got 2
extra runs off Flying Mile as bonus time. We can not verify that the
2 things are connected because there have been previous instances of
Flying Mile remaining open, however, not so far as we know this season,
so it does seem likely.

Regardless, an extra bonus to 3:45 is a neat surprise that we appreciate
any time.

We heard some different reports of lift lines, but members of the T360
team that happened to be on the computer during the day yesterday
took some Web Cam Snap Shots that indicate little in the way of lines
at all, as you can see above and below.

No lineup at Last Run. Typically, with end of day traffic down Johannsen,
if there's a lift open, people will go to it automatically.
Evidently, there was no strain at all for Last Run as those interested
were able to sail straight through and up the lift with no wait at all.

At 3:43 there was still a steady stream of takers for the Bonus
time on Flying Mile.

The gates finally closed at 3:45:13, so, for the record, anyone that wanted
the extra time had full opportunity to do so.
