Apres Ski Report to follow at aprox 9:00P.M. plus or minus,
But here's the deal...

If you're not planning on Skiing or Boarding Tremblant,
you got the wrong plans...

The surfaces here are seasons best excellent. Period.

More grip on groomed runs than you know what to do with...

Todays weather marks the return to more seasonable temps
than yesterdays very mild -1C, as we wake up to -13C
and a dropping thermometer that may reach as low as -16C
by late afternoon.

Forecast winds vary between sources this morning, in-so-far-as
velocity is concerned. Estimates are between 10 and 20 KMPH.
Everyone agrees that they will be from the North though, so you can
expect to face them as they come across the Summit from the
P'tit Bonheur sector and head towards Soleil.

At these temps with brisk North winds, you'll want to ensure that
all overlapping garment seals around wrists, neck, waist and boot
tops are well secured. After the relative warmth of yesterday, today
will seem cool.

Compared to last week when we had a -34C morning or two, we
find todays temps very easy indeed.

Of course, the Skiing and Boarding should be very good(*), and on
top of that, the traffic will be light, so it will be what we call a
"Private Club" day as you will have free range without any delays
at all.

(*)After yesterdays mild -1C conditions, we may see some "Crunchie"
zones if any thermal levels got close to thaw, but we think those would
be limited to lower portions of the South and Soleil as the North is typically
better sheltered and the Summit, at its 2116 ft. higher elevation remained
well below zeroC at -5C or so.

Bottom line on conditions is that you could find variable surfaces and
when thats the case... use caution with speed until you verify safe
passage.

We'll let you know how things are Apres Ski.

Proof of Summit Snow in this Summit Web Cam Snap Shot.
The important info to note here is that while there is obvious
snow in the trees, the small corner of the roof shows wind blown,
ie: the snow did not fall straight down, so what we think we'll see
this morning is some drifting that will be fun on runs like Banzai.

Apres Ski...

Abundant, high quality natural snow forms the basis of the fine
Tremblant surfaces.

There's no way to sugar coat this....

With all due respect, if you can possibly make it to Tremblant, and you don't...
you're nuts.

Not only are the carving surfaces the best we've had this season, they
would certainly be at the very top for recent years.

Any concerns we might have had because of yesterday's near warm
temps were completely vaporized when we cruised the Mountain today.
North, South, Soleil and Edge were all top level quality.

The astounding part of it all is the almost surreal traction that was
evident everywhere. At first you thought, "Oh my, that run's in great shape!"
then, after hitting all 4 sides and multitudes of runs, you realize
"This whole Mountain is in fantastic shape!!!"

What we have is a surface quality of absolutely remarkable grip.
With good edges, you could carve just about anywhere on Tremblant's 4
gorgeous sides while holding a 45 degree angle riding the limit of
centrifugal force as you rocketed around with complete and utter
confidence. Fantastic.

Within all rated skill levels, green, blue and black, there is exemplary
terrain for each.

Almost regardless of skill level, but certainly if you're an expert, there is
absolutely no question that tuned edges/bases will contribute to the
capabilities you have when things are this good. Recently we have
spoken about the carving, edge set and shred depth of the snow we have.
If you want to expand your performance, if you want to explore the limits
of grip, traction and the laws of physics, then surgical quality edges on your
skis or board can make a huge difference no matter if it's groomed or
un-groomed terrain.

Conditions here have literally been getting better every day
and if it is within your power to be here, the current Tremblant
experience is worth every effort you can make.
