88(*) Open Trails on the Scenic 4 Sides of Tremblant!
The challenge is to find ways to adequately convey
the superlative surfaces and snow quality of Tremblant
in terms that are objective, realistic and accurate.
This challenge is one of the reasons we like to include big,
fullscreen pic's, because the detail comes through to the
experienced Skier or Boarder with an intuitive appreciation
derived from personal experience.
In other words, when you see it, you know it.
The foreground of this photograph comes very close to describing
the almost completely universal surface quality of the entire
groomed acreage of Tremblant. Not only is it smooth, but when you
exert pressure on it, the edges of your skis or board will find that
it has a sort of magical ability to support you without loosing
a firm, confidence inspiring grip that is reliable and so much fun.
Taking that concept one stage further, here is a pic of what is possible
in terms of mechanical surface grip at Tremblant, right now, today. The important thing to recognize in this picture are the very small
little dents in the snow running parallel to the right hand carved track
you see moving from right to left, downward and off screen.
For purposes of demonstrating traction, the outside ski has been
extended like an outrigger and laid on its side to make this carve.
Those small little dents are the marks left by the bindings hitting
the snow when the ski is tipped over so far that they contact the
surface. At that moment, virtually the entire weight of the skier
is supported on the outside ski which is at 45 degrees to the surface
and holding a clean arch through the turn.
Experts will instantly recognize the benefits of this level of surface
quality, but what is so unusual right now is that Tremblant is like this
everywhere it is groomed. When you look at the Official Trail and
Grooming list, you should know that everything listed is this good.
We're talking about somewhere around 500 acres of groomed carving
perfection and if that's not enough to motivate you to get out and
enjoy these conditions for yourself, then we don't know what else to say.
Tremblant is so fine that this is why we started out by saying that the
challenge is in how to covey that. Ultimately, the decision is yours,
but if you miss these conditions, then you are going to miss an extraordinary
opportunity for some of the best Skiing or Boarding we've had in recent
memory.
Even Expo with its steep pitch has these fine grippy surfaces.
Look at the daylight under the skiers inside foot as this turn is being made.
His entire weight is on the outside ski and that ski is holding a fine edge
as it shreds through this gorgeous surface.

http://www.tremblant.ca The weather today should feel substantially more comfortable
than yesterday with a projected high of -12C and the important
distinction of having much less wind forecasted.
The breezes should be moderate and from the South-West, so they
will be moving opposite to yesterday across the Summit from the
Soleil sector toward P'tit Bonheur, and we think the whole North Side
will feel sheltered today.
All in all, an easy winter day with light snow right now and the
possibility of partial sunshine this afternoon.
All Tremblant guests have the resources of the Mountain Info
Crews with their distinctive uniforms that can be seen easily.

offered daily.
There's no question that...
Opportunities to experience the fine Winter conditions
of Tremblant at this level of quality are worth every
effort you can make to get here.
It's all up to you.
