A Light From The Heavens Shown Down
Upon Tremblant And Blessed Us With... More Fresh Snow!
A steady snowfall of a fine, light crystal(as opposed to big fat
fluffy flakes) has descended on Tremblant throughout the night
to generate a new layer that we estimate might be 2 or 3 Cm's
at this stage. Even as this is being written, the size, density and
volume of snow falling is changing and variable, so we will simply
have to wait to see how it all materializes today.
At the least, it will be like a nice topcoat of fresh paint on a picture
that was pretty to begin with, and at the most, all the forecasts could
be wrong and we get lots more, which will always be welcome.

looking South-East over the summit toward the Duncan Quad
that can be seen here as a shadowy shape through the falling snow.

Conditions Caveat:
While things are generally excellent, there are some slick or icy
bits that are primarily in high traffic zones around trail intersections
or run-outs, as well as on the down-sides of some steeper pitches
on both groomed and un-groomed terrain. There are some areas
at the very lowest portion of Algonquin that had some loose rocky
debris yesterday, so for the protection of your bases, we urge
careful navigation there.
We are recommending that caution and reduced speed be used in these
areas until you verify safe passage.
Traffic Notes: Weekend attendance means increased awareness of those
around you to ensure adequate space for maneuvering. Watch out for
those who are new to the area and may not be familiar with things and
could make sudden directional changes into your path.
------------ end of caveat -------------------------
The all new Algonquin opened for the first time officially, yesterday.
It was groomed to half width as you can see here, so there was
quite a mix of conditions along its length. There were some rock
debris hazards at the very bottom that required slow speed navigation
to avoid, but regardless, this is a beautiful run that is truly well
engineered. It has a genuine, high quality road bed type of construction
featuring wide gentle turns on a very consistent pitch. It is an excellent
run now, and it will become a classic Tremblant cruising and learning trail
with the passage of time and the fine tuning of its surfaces.
The quality of the base and the additional fresh snow
has created surfaces with the very best possible traction
and grip. Carving turn after turn on the immaculate
groomers that have been carefully prepared by the
Tremblant Mountain Crews, is nothing less than a joy.
All skill levels from Beginners to "Ski Anything, Anywhere"
Experts, will find variety within the rated trails,
so there is literally something for everyone at Tremblant
right now.
Let's Go To Tremblant!
February is the heart of the Tremblant winter.
Conditions are very fine, the Mountain is fully
opened and if it is within your power to be here,
it is worth every effort you can make.
